Do you really think anyone in the Conservative Party has any appetite to go to the electorate again any time soon? They'd be utterly mad.

I think you're confusing them with the Monster Raving Looney Party.

They won't want to. I suspect they will have no choice.
DUP already signalling they don't fancy being part of a lame duck government (though that is probably a negotiating position - DUP will be good at that).

It's all about Brexit negotiations now.

The fact that the leader of the DUP thinks May should go shows just how weak this Tory majority is.

Even with DUP support the Tories have an incredibly fragile majority. Some might say that, in effect, it's unworkable.

Although it's obviously ended in chaos it's quite, quite marvellous to see May not simply losing an election but making an utter hash of it/fool of herself.
Another GE within 6 months for sure.
May gone within the month. Mark my words.

May deserves to go, spectacular own goal and proves what a poor leader of the conservatives she is however there appears no other person in the making to take on this mantle

An own goal as spectacular as Cameron's? Time will tell.

I agree about the mantle thing, where are the true leaders of men and women in whom we can believe, where are the tory/labour/libdem states(wo)men who can heal a divided nation and drive us forward with conviction?

Unfortunately for us they're all a shockingly shameful shambling shower of shilly-shalling shite.

So what do you suggest?

I really don't know at the moment. I'm struggling to see a minority government from either side lasting long. My thinking is whatever happens won't last long and they'll be another election in 6 months.

The conservatives should let Corbyn try and form a government. Risky, but might backfire on him.

Cancer eh ???
Stay classy

Sore loser much! The OP's phrase is a common one and perfectly apt in this instance.

Your false outrage butters no parsnips today.

Very happy for Brighton today. The Tory Cancer has gone.

My bet too. I suspect the political calculations now are whether it's better to be in struggling in a minority government or in opposition in the next few months ahead of a likely second election.
But who the hell knows anything now...

If they do it to deliberately make it backfire, then the Tories will take some of the blame for doing so. The only option that makes sense if for the Tories to form some sort of government. If the other parties stop that, then fine, they can try (to form a government) or we can have another election.

I'm up for a minority conservative government propped up by the unionists.

Won't be able to achieve much and it might force politicians to start compromising more and working together.

But it probably won't, it'll probably just kick off more point scoring and as others have said another general election within the next 12 months.

Two hours sleep and on the coffee (although I may have to switch back to alcohol again soon).

There's a certain delicious irony here that after all TM's scaremongering about stability and chaos we've ended up with the country completely unstable and chaotic politically. And it's all her fault.

My prediction was an increased Tory majority but that she would still be toast after the disastrous campaign. But wow, it really couldn't have gone much worse for her.

Has Boris said anything yet?
