The Times speculated a few days back his absence was due to May planning to move him on from Chancellor and the cabinet after the election.

If the votes are really falling away from the Tories, it may be Hammond who decides who's in the cabinet or not

I am fully lucid.

My thinking reflects the same thinking as Corbyn and May who also recognise what was voted for.
They are also seeking( because of what was voted for in the referendum vote) an end of free movement and out of being members of the single market.

Happy days.
The people that didnt know what was voted for are in a tiny tiny majority
Just read the last few pages of this thread.

You've managed the unthinkable by being more offensive, more rambling, more confrontational, less coherent, even less intelligent or likeable and even worse at being able to read or comprehend anything than (self professed most intelligent person on NSC) Looney.

Although I'm not convinced that you're actually different people.

"People" actually meaning a fat teenager in an Infowars t-shirt. Sat there ******* over Trump memes and dreaming of bringing down the World with your 4chan pals as you laugh at how everyone else is so stupid.

I have never read such a tirade of complete and utter nonsense.

I don't think its either. I think Tory central office have instructed her to keep out of the way, so as to not cause any further damage.

They know as well as everybody else, that she's a massive liability. Even Farage can see it.

"Theresa love? Could you just STFU for two weeks please? You're starting to scare people."

"OK Lynton, anything you say."

Now, that is an interesting question. It's very unusual for a Chancellor to be low-key during an election: Osborne was everywhere in 2015. What makes it weirder is that Hammond is one of the more sensible Tories - he's not a head-banging right winger, he has no skeletons in his closet (as far as we know) and hasn't made any big gaffes. His non-appearance is a real mystery

Phillip Hammond has made a massive gaffe - it just wasn't widely reported.

Andrea Leadsom, who stood down in the leadership contest to let May win, has been no where to be seen either.

She's first out the cabinet door after the reshuffle. As hopeless as she was, I honestly don't think she's any worse than the Maybot is now.

Either they're nearly all shit because they can't recall a specific number every now and again, or we accept that it's perfectly normal to have a memory lapse and as this isn't a memory competition it doesn't really matter.

(Dianne Abbott on the other hand is an incompetent buffoon who should not be allowed anywhere near the cabinet of a nation such as ours.)

Not that I'm totally into these memory tests but didn't he get the cost of hs2 badly wrong and hasn't been around much since.

I do accept that. What is difficult to accept is the impartial BBC made a massive deal of Corbyn's gaffe, but failed to even report Hammond's gaffe, let alone amplify it, despite both interviews taking place on BBC networks. It's not like he's a nobody - he's the Chancellor.

I agree. I think politicians being beaten up because they get a figure wrong or can't recall a cost under pressure, helps no-one. I never get worked up about these mistakes because it can happen to anyone

But please expand, what was it that offended you, how did you physically change whilst under the influence of being offended?
Was it more of a mental change?
Was it because i mentioned Farage........was that the trigger moment for you?

Please expand
hate to think you were just making crap up for the sake of it.

Funny how the BBC led the news bulletins on Corbyn's appearance on Womens Hour but not a word on Justine Greening's disastrous performance on it this morning

Agreed. I have no issue with a simple admission of "I can't recall", or even "I don't know" for that matter, but pathetically flailing about trying to cover it up is frankly deplorable.

Missing in action so far - Jeremy Hunt, Phillip Hammond, Sadiq Javed, Liz Truss, Greg Clark, Chris Grayling, Andrea Leadsom, Priti Patel and now the Guvnor is joining them , what a pathetic excuse of a party and a campaign

... Liam Fox, which is even more extraordinary. He's one of the three Brexit negotiators - you know, what this election is meant to be all about.
