TB will sort it one way or the other but have to disagree with you. Stockers has brilliant for the last two seasons and I see no reason to believe he won't continue to be. There aren't many keepers available better tbh!

I wasn't saying that he won't keep up that brilliant form and if he stays, I hope he does.

Just that due to the risks involved, the club won't award a 31 year old player, with a relatively low resale value, huge PL level wages guaranteed in a four contract. During the latter three years of that contract, we might be a Championship club, albeit with parachute monies.

Everyone said that about kuszczak

I didn't, I thought he was a liability for most of his last season here. Didn't get on with Bruno either so glad to see the back of him.

How can it be hearsay when it's been reported on Chelsea's own website. Doesn't that make it fact?

I could not remember where I got it from. I don't visit Chelsea web pages though. That was and history 1965 schooldays when Chelsea and Brighton fans came to blows.

Well I guess he has the right to decide what he wants to do, but I agree that some sort of timesacle needs to be put on it, to give us the time to find a capable replacement.

I assume the deadline is the expiry of his contract. This would still give us 6 weeks to get a replacement in.
I would assume that we already have a list and may well have made enquiries alreadyso that we can move quickly if Stockdale does exercise his right to move on a free.

Mathew Ryan the Aussie at Valencia is making more and more sense if he's not breaking through at his club any time soon. Good age and from what little I know he's meant to be good at distributing but considered a bit small (but strong, confident and a communicator too). I'd say with our enormous CBs that sounds ideal and we're probably the perfect level in the perfect league and with the chance to come in as starter.

I think any flair Easten European or Scandi type would be more the Maenpaa level really.

1000th post on this thread and still no one has clue what's going on.

Between them, the club and Stockdale need to stop faffing about and get this sorted - one way or the other.

I have absolute faith in the recruitment arm of the club getting a deal done, probably with Stockdale but if it drags on into July I'm convinced they will action plan B. Today is only the first day of June - one club's season only finished a few days ago, so I think you can chill out a bit and enjoy the sunshine and cricket.
