General Election 2017

As opposed to Mrs May walking away with no deal.

She really has shown tremendous skills so far, increase NI contributions to self employed, discontent shown reversed decision Dementia tax uproar follows, backs down with some very vague cap limit.

It just looks like if Mrs May says to the EU want this and they shout back Nein she will collapse and agree whatever they put forward or walk away without a deal

Yes its a bit like the £8bn for hospital cyber security promised after the weekened after the attack on all unprotected networks in the NHS or the 10,000 police promised in the wake of the Manchester bombing when his home secretary two weeks earlier couldn't even put a price or number of police to be recruited in London.

Removing University Loans, 80% of the people paying never went to university and the foolish niaive students who are standing up applauding seem not to understand that they themselves will be paying for the next generations student fees.

Jeremy Corbyn, a nice mannered man who makes people laugh on television and tells us that he will come out with a deal from the brexit negotiations is way out of his depth as with many of his followers. Don't worry, given the chance to take out Abedi he would have consulted, investigated and made a personal judgement, while the terrorist/criminal got away. He micro manages and is not the man for the job, can't see him winning and see Sturgeon taking a battering north of the border.

Labours policies are made on the hoof, not costed, not thought out and populist to those who foolishly believe that the people can get something for nothing. All politicians are liars, you can tell that when they open their mouth, blue, red, orange, purple, green or whatever colour is on offer, our more educated society needs to apply commonsense and a realisation that you cannot get something for nothing in this world, why are we having cuts, because a labour government allowed disgraceful banking activity to go on under their watch leaving the mess for the following Tory government, its the same every time, those who loved in the seventies will remember, Callaghan mucked it up, went cap in hand to the IMF, allowed Russian infiltration of the unions and left the country half bankrupt, who cleared it up, the Tories

Corbyn would be an absolute disaster.

The IFS was scathing when referring to the Tory manifesto too of course but there you go. Labour offer hope for many millions of JAM's, NHS workers, council workers and those on crap or zero hours contracts, for the many, not the few.... So, what's on the table from the Tories then ? the Dementia Tax, increases in self employed NICS and currently its falling budgets for many schools and hospitals, the continual stagnation of wage growth for millions in the public and private sectors. Now do you see why so many people are turning to Labour ? So why should I vote Tory ? what's in it for me ? tax cuts ? there's nothing left to sell to fund them. so, we are left with ongoing erosion of all we take for granted.

There's an old Chinese proverb that says " Better to die on your feet than to live on your knees "

Voting Labour is not about what's in it for you. It is a noble act and I would expect there to be nothing
in it for you or me. It is about funding public services and protecting the vulnerable pure and simple. I would like to make that choice but not with the current leadership. Still undecided at the moment.

Very few will change their mid at this stage but I ask you an obvious question, how is Corbyn going to fund this. In his qiuetly spoken voice of asking the top earners to pay just a little more, his threshold of £80k excludes, train drivers, surgeons, medical consultants, MPs, many in the media and our senior policemen, all of whom he professes to want to help. Running a country is the same as running a household budget on a macro scale, we don't all live in mayfair because we can't afford, we don't all drive Porsches or holiday in St, Tropez and very few of us have a butler, no matter how mach we want it. Corbyns potential borrowing is irresponsible, buying you're way into power is a poor way of doing it.

This debate is quite gripping. Rudd is outnumbered and taking the hits one would expect - Corbyn getting her and the UKIP-Goon arguing #together against him is good tactics IMHO.

My mate in Australia tells me they have just passed a law that random drug tests can be made on anyone claiing benefit there. If your caught using drugs or drunk at the wrong time of day then your benefit is stopped and you will be issued vouchers for food and clothing, excluding cigarettes, alcohol and of course drugs. Now thats looking after the vulnerable, the children of these people who see them a collaterall, seen it myself in this country close up.

This thread is infested with those hell bent on creating a scenario that will leave us tied to European Union rules. Labour and especially the lib dems will ruin Brexit and cost this country not only billions but will leave us tied to the commission with no voice at all! (not that we ever had a meaningful voice for 40yrs anyway) You all know we get to vote every five years. Brexit comes first and then if you don't like domestic policies vote accordingly at the five year point. If you are voting anything but conservative you must inherently be a remainer.

Lols. Mystic Meg has arrived.

Or perhaps it's because you think Theresa May is completely useless?

Rudd getting shouted down.

Edit: and now slightly slapped around.

Hardly surprising, isn't it? Some feel that this is their right, as they have so little regard for others' views. Fancy the audience not liking the Tory candidate -who would have thought it!
