Where do you get your figures from ?

Whitechapels figures are right. He's made:

Premier League: 235 appearance, 46 goals, 23 assists (spread across appearances for Southampton, Hull, West Brom and Reading)
Championship 123 appearances, 39 goals, 20 assists

Clearly BG didn't have Reading in the Premier League.
Still I'm sure now he's aware of his mistake a full, frank and forthright apology will be forthcoming.

Where do these figures come from as they are not as per soccerbase? That is where I got the figures from.

Classic, almost cliche BG!

Even telling him the answer isn't good enough...

...because it's not on soccerbase.

I suggest you get in quick, you could be included in the 'I'm sorry I was wrong' post.

The funny thing is, the figures he disputes come from the number of appearances that Shane Long has made in the PL. Shame that isn't as accurate as Soccerbase though.

You can tell he's really keen to admit he's wrong.

From Soccerbase his appearances including internationals cup games etc

05-06 Reading in Championship 15
06-07 Reading in Premier 26
07-08 Reading in Premier 35
08-09 Reading in Championship 44
09-10 Reading in Championship 38
10-11 Reading in Championship 60

total 115 starts 83 sub appearances

Since leaving Reading he has played 258 games total including internationals, FA cup League Cup Europa Cup etc.
So the figures from transfer market appear to be correct and I have got it wrong but I must admit I didnt realize that he had been in the Premier for the past 6 seasons until compiling these figures. My apologies but I still wouldnt want to pay £10m for him.

The limitation of the 25 man PL squad means that if we sign

Bong
Sidwell
Pocognoli
Mäenpää
Stockdale
Stephens

on new contracts there is only going ot be two spare spaces at most.

Tempted to go for three under 21 reserves, two from Chelsea.

The rest can wait until the season is over. Basically, buy up all the promising 19 year olds whilst the PL funds allow..

Come 2nd September, several of this season's squad (that played) will have moved onto pastures new, so we will comply with the 25 man squad rule even with new recruits.

The club will make some hard decisions, but it's a must to survive in one of the toughest divisions in world football.

I do not think that will be made by spending large amount of millions on run of the mill Premier players from clubs that have struggled to avoid relegation as has been suggested from Middlesbro Hull etc.

The focus of these discussions appears to getting those players in as you say, or on players who've had an outstanding Championship season. I hope the club are also looking for value elsewhere on the continent.

Dyche was interviewed on 5Live this evening and said the problem they faced with recruiting wasn't the transfer fees which Burnley could afford, but the far higher cost of huge wages potential recruitees were demanding. UK based players or their agents, in particular, have a reputation for getting a Dutch Auction going between clubs after their services.

I would think that Paul Winstanley and his team have been scouring Europe and the UK for players that fit our needs for some weeks now, just in case. The first 2 hopefully will be Stephens and Stockdale.

Bournemouth signed about four players (three made the first team) in the summer and two more in the first January after promotion. I daresay after finding out the injury situation and having a better idea of who could make the step up.

We could be like Swansea and send a few players out on loan,

My prediction is there will more changes in the second summer. And that we will try and sign some youngsters.
