Last season we were in 6th going into the new year, and steadily made ground on the top two, before just falling short at the end. This year is completely different.

I completely agree.
But my point being last season it went down to the wire, this season i have a feeling we'll cruise it.

I think in a glass half full/half empty universe, your glass is completely full, but you're ignoring the top half of the glass. ;)

While last season was something to be immensely proud of, I never quite believed that we'd have enough to make it. This year we've been like BHAFC 15/16 2.0. Every player looks stronger, better, even taller. We have been such a force and the togetherness of our club at the moment is something I genuinely haven't seen before. On a few occasions this season, I've found myself just welling up due to the position we've found ourselves in. I was in a state of semi-psychosis for most of Fulham away post-Dunk's goal. Last night, I was also very close to tears pre-match due to the unbelievable atmosphere being created by a stadium full of fans who now truly believe. This must have been made to look even more tragic by the fact I was sitting on my own... I must confess to having spent most of the past 2 years wanting the games to be won and out of the way so as to avoid the agony of waiting for the inevitable cock-up. Even in this position with 6 games left, I can't shake that feeling that I want it all to be over. However, it's really important for us to understand the significance of what our team is doing at the moment. We have to try and enjoy it as much as possible, as it will possibly go down as one of the great periods in the history of the club.

This is the missing link with most Brighton fans including me.
We just don't believe we are as good as we are, and we are a very good squad, even when we play poorly we are, in most circumstances, good enough to come away with a draw or a win, like last night, with a few hiccups admittedly.
With the competition for places due to bringing in fine replacements, all the players will be busting at the seams to be playing the final few games to get us over the line.
But, understandably we think that it's all going to go tits up because that is what we do, I just wish everyone could just enjoy the last few games and make the Amex a couldron of noise in celebration of a very strong team, the positive atmosphere would really help the players to do this for us too.

Yeah totally agree. We're used to disappointment overall, it's in our psyche. The club has been on such a traumatic journey which has happened to have coincided with my entire life that it's not surprising that people are wary. Just look at the goal difference though, we're the ****ing business. What a team, despite not always impressing they are rock hard, rock hard. They are never going to let this slip after what happened last year

If Huddersfield lose today then i am on the bandwagon, until then though i am going to keep a lid on it.

It's all over if they don't win tonight. That would confirm a bad blip for them - something like 2 wins in 7 - which makes it a doddle for us this top 2, even tho we are not in stellar form ourselves.

Fair play, if they beat Norwich, we keep our cool for another week or two

Agree broadly. But it's more down to the fact that, even if we play poorly within a game, we're: i, resilient and therefore capable of keeping a clean sheet; and, ii, we can turn it on in just a brief period that is often enough to see us over the line (see the beginning of both halves last night)

While I know the maths are entirely in our favour, after tonight's results I can't help but start feeling just a little bit bedwetty again. I just want this done because there is so much to lose.

Maybe a tiny bit but really I'm feeling comfortable despite what is at stake. Last season was painful, every single game towards the end. I'm not going through the same emotional rollercoaster this time round. Yet :)

Starting to get twitchy again. We are rubbish away, QPR are pretty good and wolves have won 5 in a row.
