Sledgehammer to crack a (foreign) nut jub. How will you keep us safe from Scottish nut jobs though? Why are you scared of Spanish or Germans but comfortable with Scots?
Has echoes of Lincoln Imps question doesn't it?

Not at all, one of these is controllable the other one is not.

This principle is difficult for you to understand because you attribute equal status to any Germans or Spanish citizens living here as if they were English or Scottish. This window you see the world through does not discriminate between the British and foreigners.

This is where we are so so different, I do not have any such difficulty.

Therefore a Spanish or German nut job or sex case with previous convictions for nut jobbery or sexy casery would be prevented from moving here. Unfortunately their English or Scottish equivalents are already here........we have to live with that reality.

You see, it's the same principle of controlling the labour market, let in those you want, stop those you don't. It's why you have a front door and windows that you lock......unless you are going to tell me otherwise?

I'd argue your attitude is anti-intellectual. Why can't you learn merely for learnings sake? Why can't you learn merely for self-improvement? Why does there always have to be a monetorised outcome/end game?

I'm all for learning and self-improvement,but only if not completely wasted like that.Would it not be far better for somebody to gain employment in their chosen field,by virtue of their pre-university education, and advance their qualifications with experience of the work.I have met many people in my 45 years of employment given a job on the basis of a degree, who turned out to be less than great in the job.Unfortunately,it seems to be a self-perpetuating system, with degree holders only employing degree holders, even when they turn out to be utterly useless, like Fred Goodwin,Lyndon Scourfield etc.

Unconnected to anything else.

So let me get this right, the recent spate of events where hundreds of European citizens have been murdered and maimed in their own cities is "unconnected to anything else".

I think, and I will put this gently, your conclusion here is pretty much an extreme minority view.

For the rational there are a multitude of connections to these tragic events........that means more than one by the way.

I just hope you have not reached voting age yet..........

Please keep them.I'm sure they'd fit in well on the Unter den Linden!

My wife has a degree, she voted Leave, she got made redundant last year, she got a years contract somewhere else but when that finished we will be back at square one again, and that had nothing to do with Brexit.

My girlfriend got a degree in English Literature, her son and daughter are at Uni, her two mates, all voted Leave. Not all Uni students are Leftie snowflakes who go out demonstrating at the drop of a hat.

An overpriced coffee from a grumpy English person just won't be the same as when it's served by a Czech hottie will it?

Yeah, especially if is she is one of those Eastern European birds with big tits, poor life opportunities and low self esteem.

The Czech hotties are much more adventurous than their British equivalents, I knew one who was willing to literally do anything as long as you gave her a stick of celery, a gallon of brake fluid and a dog bowl.

Good old English style sexist and racist bantz........I knew you could take the boy out of England but never take England out the boy!

They probably just told you they voted leave so they don't have to listen to your endless right wing, chip on your shoulder, reverse snobbery guff.

Really, you are desperate Nibble. Nice touch of yours saying that an 81 year old that worked up until 4 years ago, should have "gone to uni".
Sad man.
Thankfully the people I mentioned are nicer and brighter than you.

I said it would not be a native German, so was I right or wrong?

To some extent you are correct, however it was a calculated assumption as I was merely applying the principle of precedent to this event.

Not the behaviour of a demented fascist, just a rational prediction based on a previously understood sequence of events.

I haven't been involved in this conversation but I think the point being made was that the likely ethnic origin of the criminal was being used in a particular way to support a wider generalisation. In fact, most people, reading a description of this crime, would privately guess that the criminal wasn't from Westphalia - in the same way that that most people (however they voted) would guess that a nutter stabbing a northern MP whilst crying "This is for England" was a rabid Brexiter. I don't think I would use that second fact to make a wider point. The criticism is not about you applying the 'applying the principle of precedent', as I think you know.

Well what a suprise given that nobody has stated that all those with higher qualifications voted remain

But thanks for adding nothing to the debate

I'm all for learning and self-improvement,but only if not completely wasted like that.

My general principle is that education in anything is never a waste. If someone therefore wants to educate themselves up to being a rocket scientist and then serve me coffee for the rest of their life I'm absolutely fine with this (including paying for it via my taxes.) And who's to say they can't transfer their skills acquired on their degree? And if you want to go down the road of assigning degrees to jobs you'd better have the jobs available; something sadly lacking in the UK unless you're advocating we limit Degrees to High Street retail and Financial services?

I don't think I can be bothered to go through trying to tie you down to what you actually said the first time.

I don't meet many like this; I'm normally long gone when the lights have come on and the bouncer's asking if I've got a home to go to.

I know you see it differently, I am asking why? Why is it more concerning for you to have a neighbour that was born in France than one that was born in Scotland?

The axe attack in Dusseldorf is unconnected to anything else, as far as we know.
Some other incidents have a connection, in that the perpetrators may have been inspired by the same source to carry out their attacks. I don't think any of them have been carried out by EU citizens, moving from one state to another under freedom of movement of labour rules.
There was a French born woman involved in the Paris attacks, a German born man behind the shootings in Munich, a Norwegian man behind the 77 murdered in Norway. I don't see how ending freedom of movement for EU citizens would have prevented them being where they were, or the Tunisian born man behind the wheel of the truck in Berlin, or the Afghani refugee who hacked at passengers on a train last year in Germany.

Completely agree. Nobody that I noticed put it that way. I think you'll find that the general mantra of remainers was that all the people who voted leave are thick and unqualified. Which Soulman's entry clearly refutes.
