From what McClaren's already said about needing to rotate a few players to keep the team fresh, and the fact that Johnson looks unlikely to start, I expect 2 or 3 changes - possibly Bent for Vydra or Nugent, Hughes for Johnson, and maybe a change at LB (if Max Lowe is fit). Alex Pearce has actually kept Shackell out of the side, even when Shackell's been fit, and although he's given a couple of soft penalties away recently, he's arguably been our most reliable player this season, along with Baird and Ince.

I think the negativity from Derby fans stems from a run of 7 games, including 4 at home, against teams that we were mostly favourite to beat, from which we've earned 1 win and 4 draws. Add in the previous 6 games with only 2 wins and a draw, and it's felt more like a relegation battle since the turn of the year than a play-off challenge.

The dynamic of this squad is impossible to fathom and, whilst I haven't heard any rumbles of conflict, they don't often come across as a 'band of brothers' either. I'm not sure which of them need a slap, but some of them probably do.

If you line up with Hughes / Butterfield / Ince / Vydra / Bent / Nugent as your front 6 I will naturally be bricking it as they're all fantastic players by rights. But obviously something hasn't been going right as those same players haven't been winning. What's your gut in the score?

We have a fairly major defensive crisis & will miss Duffy a lot for season end.

As for SM saying we will most definately go up - it stinks of mind games to me. Perhaps that's the cynic in me but his interview after our 2-0 win in 14/15 annoyed a lot of us. You battered us in that game and we were extremely lucky to win but to say there was no quality in our goals (when LuaLua scored a belter) stank a bit. I'd have been fine with him saying 'how didn't we win that - we dominated' but there was something annoying about attacking our goals if I remember.

How recent do you want to go, the Vicente crossbar game was ok in my memory
You're quite right - I'd forgotten that game - played really well that night!
2011/12 2-0
2012/13 2-1
2013/14 1-2 & 1-2
2014/15 2-0
2015/16 1-1

Better record at the AMEX than I thought we had

I didn't realise it was that good (considering the feeling I have when we play them) either. I think it's because the 2-0 recent ish win was lucky, last season was bitterly disappointing and the play off year double stick in my mind.

Lewis Dunk FGS...?

Much to the condemnation of a fair few idiots on here, that is only likely if it's coupled with Jiri starting.

Afterall other than crossing the ball with unbelievable accuracy what does he actually do?

I think he is referring to my comment which referred to Bent's previous tweet of:

"So the substitutions are responsible for us conceding a late goal last night, some of these fans never fail to surprise me or make me laugh"

And, believe it or not, Mr Bent was introduced as a substitute in the 82nd minute....

Ah, I stand corrected. Good to know (for us) all is not rosy there.

Last season I really feel Derby at home was the big game. We were good first half then really fizzled out in the second. Probably with hindsight but really felt at the time we were leaving ourselves too much to do to win at Boro. Let's make up for it tomorrow. Let's smash that Dutch loving, brolly wielding, coffee sipping prat McLaren. He is a classless shit saying we've had a wobble and all the pressure is on us trying to play mind games bollocks. You're not Ferguson pal. Then our Chris was asked a leading question about Derby flattering to deceive and he batted it off paying the championship a compliment. I hope Keogh and Hughes are out or break down during the game as that'll help too.

That's better than I thought too. I think I'm still traumatised by our 13/14 record of P4 L4...

Struggling to think of a recent ish good home performance against Derby...?

I wouldn't take too much notice of what their fans say - they've had a fairly poor run & just conceded a last second equaliser so will be very negative...

I'm annoyed the Derby Chairman has chose this match to subsidise their travel & ticket prices though - normally I'm all for that sort of thing but it will mean a bigger following for them [emoji38]
The game in our relegation fight when they were top and we did them 2-0. Started their great fall from grace and kick started our revival.

McClaren has just said that we are "certainties" for promotion. Now I am worried....

Fortunately he will just have been repeating what someone told him to say (or that he overheard in Tescos) rather than expressing his actual opinion. The prick.
