If you bought something at a supermarket and they put the price up but reduced the quantity you were buying you wouldn't be happy.

That's a rubbish analogy though, because you're ignoring quality.

The 'supermarket' is not putting the price of the same thing up, and reducing the quantity. It's £5.00 for 23 standard chocolate bars, or the same for 19 premium chocolate bars.

It is simple... If you don't like it, don't renew!

More dumb comments. When the club was being run into the ground by Archer, did all the fans boycott every game? No, they supported the team whilst the protests against the board went on. You don't have to give up supporting the team just because you don't like something the administration of the club does. Under Archer it was pretty much everything they did that was wrong, under Bloom, I'm just saying I think this increase is unnecessary penny pinching.

And just to clarify, I am not making any comparisons between TB and Archer's regimes. TB is the messiah to Archer's Herod.

Well that depends on how you define quality. If for some it is the opportunity to see the likes of Costa, Hazard, Ali, Ibrahimovic, et al then you will be fallng over yourself with excitement. However, the downside could be that we have a season like our friends up the road and we watch 19 games at the Amex seeing our team get trounced. Hopefully it won't be like that and we'll hold our own. I do, however, remember the last time we went up full of optimism and came crashing down to earth in the first home game!!!!

The fact is that I don't pay to go to the Amex because the opposition is good, I go to watch my team.

Oh and you sound like the type of bloke that never buys a round and works out exactly what the cost of your meal is IF you go to a restaurant with friends...

Unbelievable comments on this thread.

Yeah it would be nice if we had reduced rates for premier given sky money etc. However TB has forked out Millions for the club and should be first in the que to get something back.

We're talking a few quid more a game not massive price hikes.

Ungrateful, miserable pricks, always looking for the negatives.

I ain't wealthy but I'm happy to pay these prices to see this team.

The moaners should a stay home and watch on sky. We don't need you and never have!

You're right, 24% increase isn't massive. How stupid of us.

80 posts since 2009! Welcome to the party.

I shall be renewing but you sound like you fell for the 'between 2 and 5% increase' spin.

So bitter. How you make a £25 increase 24% is beyond me! Oh and the man who funded the stadium and pays £20million a season into the club is a 'penny pincher'.

Some people have been miserable for so long they just don't want to be happy.

Don't renew. We don't need ya!

Goodnight! X

Got no arguements troll boy

I'll make it simple for you. If you are a season ticket holder, work out how much you pay for a game currently then work out how much you will pay for a game next season on the basis we get promoted.

I believe most on this thread have already worked that out.

Cba to read through all of this. The increase isn't too bad on one hand - although annoying it was a 'freeze' last year - although it has been these little increases almost every year at the Amex and has got to stop at some point. They eventually add up a fair bit.

Pretty obvious the original Amex business plan was start the prices fairly low (ish) and then do slight increases most year once people are 'hooked'. Same goes for the 10% ecash discount that suddenly got scrapped. Still, business is business.

Just used the inflation calculator and an adult entrance in 1970 would now be inflated to £4.40p:moo: Just saying:rolleyes:

Yep. And Kevin Keegan's first weekly wage when he joined Liverpool in 1971 was £50. Inflation adjusted, that makes £710 pw now. So, the inflation-adjusted price of an adult ticket as a percentage of the actual price is c12.5%, whereas the same calculation for a top footballer is 0.2%.

If adult ticket prices had kept pace with the rise in top players' wages the price of a ticket would be about £2000 a game for top flight football.
