In the scheme of things a tiny little white lie like this is irrelevant and can be wavered, but to have parts of the media make up all sorts of stories in order to feed and promote their own filthy driven agenda when in fact they are supposed to be impartial has to be wrong...especially when those stories could have consequences !!. not the first time they have been seen to be telling porkies either.

thats just the problem, it is a tiny little thing, so why on earth get bogged down in a pissing contest about who's crowd is bigger. its a sad reflection on Trump that he cares about such matter, having won the election he should elevate himself above it, but he's basically still treating it like a TV popularity contest.

Would that be the party who had a supporter punch a black man as he was being escorted out of one of the rallies?

Don't try and paint a picture that the only violence is from the left!

That would be the guy who got arrested for punching that man. A singular example.

NOW would you like videos of all the intolerance and violence displayed by the other side of politics put up?

Such tolerant and articulate people those liberals. So easy to see why the result went the way it did.

Brilliantly Summed up by a totally pissed off yank who couldn't stand the system..

It happened because you banned super-sized sodas and smoking in parks. And offensive ideas on campus.
Because you branded people who oppose gay marriage "homophobic" and people unsure about immigration "racist" .
Because you treated owning a gun and never having eaten Guinoa as signifiers of fascism.
Because you thought correcting peoples attitudes was more important than finding them jobs.
Because you turned "white man" from a description into a insult.
Because you used slurs like "denier" and "dangerous" against anyone who doesn't share your eco-pieties.
Because you treated dissent as hate speech and criticism of Obama as extremism.
Because you talked more about gender-neutral toilets than about home repossessions.
Because you beatified Caitlyn Jenner.
Because you policed people's language, rubbished their parenting skills, took the piss out of their beliefs.
Because you cried when someone mocked the Koran but laughed when they mocked the bible.
Because you said criticising Islam is Islamophobia.
Because you kept telling people, "you can't say that, you can't do this".
Because you turned politics from something done by and for people to something done to them, for their own good.
Because you treated people like trash. And people don't like being treated like trash..... TRUMP HAPPENED BECAUSE OF YOU !!!
The very same applies over here. :D.

Caitlyn Jenner voted for Trump and was a huge advocate for his campaign.

I wonder how long it's gunna take before Billy Bob from a good old mining town in Pennsylvania realises his coal mining job ain't coming back and he has been screwed by another corrupt, self serving politician.

I would laugh but I have to live and look at these idiots everyday.

Couldn't agree more. He would have garnered more credibility if he just acknowledged what was shown and got on with his presidency but no, he rises to the bait. I think this is going to be symptomatic of the next four years.

Surely the same could be said about Blair and the UK political system though?

The opposition was inept, sleazy and at civil war with itself, which allowed Blair to succeed three times.

Regardless of where you are on the political spectrum, our elected elite (and I appreciate we elected them) are a pretty underwhelming bunch all round. May, Corbyn, Sturgeon, Farron, Nuttall (how anyone who is a lecturer at a HE institution in Liverpool has credibility in any walk of life is beyond me) hardly make a good case this side of the pond for the merits of a parliamentary democracy, and Trump, Pence, Cruz, Clinton, Sanders et al are even worse.

There are some similarities but I don't think we have quite reached the point where say a PM Farage was likely.

For all their faults Blair/New Labour were necessary to finally get the Conservatives out of power. I think we are generally a small c conservative country but the political cycle had to change eventually, especially as the alternative under Blair was more Tory light than Socialist. It was always likely the Conservatives would fall into disarray, make some bad Leadership choices and take time to adapt to being in opposition. Labour are currently repeating this journey (with bells on!) .. their path back to government seems even more distant.

Getting to the similarities I agree many of our politicians are substandard and our system has adapted to a convenient 'centre-ground' consensus that mainly serves the wealthy and relatively well off ...or to put it another way just about the right amount of people to win a General election. I suppose this was always likely to give at some point with so many people being continually ignored or left behind. Adding national identity/sovereignty/immigration to the mix leads us to where we find ourselves now. So yes I think it's pretty clear the US/UK/EU systems have similar failings.

Interesting to see how this all plays out with the recent dramatic changes and more to come in Europe this year, possibly. Will they really deliver a difference and how quickly can the usual suspects re-establish their grip. It's entirely possible events may spiral out of control on numerous fronts.

Btw has there ever been a golden age of high calibre politicians or our/any democratic system working as much as we hoped? That old saying we deserve the politicians/leaders/governments we get certainly has a ring of truth about it.

You've got me. I concede that all the violence in the world is perpetrated by lefties. Apart of course from the one incident I mentioned earlier.

I know first hand what them scumbags are capable of and how they manage to get a free pass from the police. i have witnessed it on many occasions. i have even had an official apology from the police themselves.

To say they aren't violent is an understatement and to say that they don't cause trouble is even a bigger one..

Who said all? I'm talking about the US political landscape. This is a thread about Trump and why he got elected isn't it?

Social media allows people to see Trump's bad side as it's always pointed out, it's also exposed the US liberals nasty underbelly to the average person too.

People don't like what they are seeing.

Look at how high profile comedians view US colleges these days. Won't play them because of the liberal bullshit that the universities are churning out and the cry baby children that spout that crap attitude.

Both sides are capable of the same old shit. Let's not pretend anyone is innocent here. There are violent elements on the left and the right. From a brief flirtation with the anti-fash (I don't agree with the violence either), I can say absolutely, to say they get a free pass is nonsense. not only that, but if the police apologised, who gave them the free pass then?! This doesn't mmake any sense.

So, I concede that all violence in the US of A is perpetrated by lefties, apart of course from the isolated incident at the Trump rally.

Not sure why you suddenly switch from violence to comedians boycotting liberal campuses just because they are more 'pc'.

I mentioned it as being symptomatic of why the liberals are so on the nose nation wide. Even among other liberals. Bill Maher a long time left wing comedian is even calling them out as being regressive and not progressive in their views and actions.

Billy Bob don't care. Billy Bob went to the polls saying "He hates the same people I hate. Hand me the goddamn ballot."

That's how nuanced and sophisticated it was.

How is it nonsense ? have you ever witnessed anything like this first hand yourself and with your own eyes, if you have then you have every right to comment, if you haven't don't make up claims you know nothing about.

Several years ago i was involved in a small group known as MFE (march for England encase you haven't heard of them) and every year and once a year we would march in Brighton to celebrate St Georges day. we had to get permission first from the police which meant liaising with them. the first couple of events went off peacefully and why shouldn't they have done.. after all this was purely meant as a family day out and to celebrate our patron saint. Scotland Wales & Ireland have a celebratory day so why shouldn't we. anyway as i said the first couple of rallies went off as to be expected jolly and peaceful but the third turned out to be completely different, it turns out that ANTIFA and other left wing groups took it upon themselves to oppose us, a few scuffles broke out and the police instead of focusing their attention on them the "aggressor's" they started to get very heavy handed with us.. . now i am not saying that one or two of our's weren't flying fists about because they were but if you had of seen the type of violence being used towards us both from the police and the lefties then you would have understood why. the headlines of the evening argus the following evening read .."right wing nazi's smash up Brighton" or something to that description. it couldn't be any further from the truth. the fourth march was fast approaching and as i had said earlier we had to liaison with the police before it could go ahead, we questioned them over their heavy handedness especially towards us and the response we got back was pathetic, "we were treating both sides equally" they said. anyway the fourth march was like a battle zone, the lefties had literally thousand's out and were extremely angry as well, as soon as we left from the station down Queens road.we were being attacked from both sides of the street, smoke bombs bottles coins you name it came flying towards us... again the police used the exact same tactics as before, giving the lefties a free reign to attack us with endless amounts of missiles. a 9 year old girl got struck in the eye by a bottle. for everyone's safety the march was eventually diverted. the headlines of the evening argus the following evening read as similar as before, that we were the trouble makers. shortly before march five and after a long session of heated exchanged words between us and the police we were all given a formal apology from the chief of sussex police himself. two more marches later and we called the whole thing off for good. it was getting ridiculous. . .

The people who are going to get most f*cked by the Trump government are the very people who were exploited (although inexcusably in my personal opinion) to vote for him in the first place. Mega Facepalm

That's what happens to the blacks who blindly keep voting Democrats despite them exploiting their ignorance and taking them for granted election after election.

Trump actually has a golden opportunity to expose this sham if he does a few things right.

If people think times are tough now and the $$$ does not go very far. Just wait till wages continue to stagnate for many low/middle income families and the cost of living continues to rise. The next few years are going to be very hard to watch.
