I've thought it for years mate but apparently it's actually not. He is the most comic thing on here though - I don't think he realises just how funny he is. This place wouldn't be the same without him though - we all love to laugh at his posts really

My logic is he knows CH well from their days at Tottenham so could possibkly say " You are struggling with strikers at the mo give me a short contract so that I can play for you Tuesday and Saturday and after that we will talk about a serious contract". He would be covered against injury on trhe clubs insurance so it is a win win for everybody.
For anybody to suggest the MLS is a serious league must be the biggest laugh why did all the big names like Henri Beckham, Lampard, Gerrard Pirlo etc go there simple because they were past it for playing in the top league of England or similar and they were on a good screw wages wise.

The MLS is a very poor standard that is definitely true - easy pay day for over the hill players

Theres no sensible logic in that at all.
This is Robbie Keane we are discussing here . If we are interested we will not be his only option. He will feel he doesnt need to prove himself to anyone. Much less to someone that only trusts his ability enough to offer him a weeks trial. The idea is nothing short of ridiculous

Exactly. It would take him a few games to get match fit and then the speed of the Championship may be too much, though his experience would help in some respects.
Would prefer a younger, hungrier version.

For a team knocking on the Prem door we should really be going for someone alot better - I can't believe that Arse, Spurs, Chelski etc haven't got someone we could bring in on loan

We we perfectly happy to take bobby back at that age, and in terms of quality and goals scored Keane is light years ahead, I'm not saying Keane is what I want ideally but I really don't understand him being written off by some on here as finished
Our captain is 36 and has played 70+ matches consecutively for the club. Class is permanent. I'm with you Marshy.
Don't deny that, but it is based on past reputation rather than current ability.
The older you get as a player, the slower you get. That is why they sometimes drop down in standards, in order to extend their careers. For those playing in the MLS it is no different.
Surely the championship is a lot higher than MLS?

Not writing him off, just think we can do better.
Bobby was in the PL prior to us signing him, which is massively different to the MLS.

Ridgewell was on the radio the other day. He rated the MLS standard as around the mid-table of the Championship.

But, that being said, most teams have a player who punches above the weight of the team/league they are on... so whilst the MLS might be mid-table Championship, that doesn't mean that Keane - IF he did come to us - would be of lesser quality than we'd want.
