Chuba Akpom is well known to be a billy big b*llocks. Lots of players from clubs he's been on loan at have stated that they were glad to see the back of him. Don't think he'd do much for squad harmony. Also, he's really quite rubbish. Not even an upgrade on Elvis.

Hogan 60% chance of scoring. Baldock 40%

Add in the assists for Baldock and the records are comparable by minutes played rather than appearances.

On balance, I would say No to Hogan. I would have said yes to Oliver Burke and Demarai Gray though, No to Andre Gray and Vydra. I probably would not have signed Baldock in the first instance, but he has improved massively and for the want of an extra important burst of pace, he has been a success this season.

This. Exaggerated slightly but heard from a few people that he is not one to blend in well.

I can absolutely guarantee that we will not be signing 'much better players' than Scott Hogan. Not a chance.

Exactly.

Certainly not in the January transfer window we won't. We've been reluctant to splash the cash in January when we could have done with doing so. Can't see that changing now that we've got the strongest squad we've ever had.

I don't know the lad personally, but if that were to be the case you'd think / hope that CH and his crew would be aware of it, and judge a move accordingly.
I only saw him a couple of times last season admittedly, but thought he looked lively. Got a hattrick in the Cup as well.

Suspect knees, he's done his cruciate a couple of times.

I don't know anything about medicine or sports injuries but if someone's done their cruciate twice (and I think it may only be once in Hogan's case) does that mean they're at more risk of it happening again? Doesn't it just mean they've been unlucky with twice?

We dont want him well not for £9m we dont. There will be cheaper options as good available as we only need somebody to help get us up
Only needing someone to help get us up is far easier said than done.

I dont know but then I am not paid to know but I sure that those who are have a list of those available through out Europe at all prices.
Indeed there certainly is a team that's trying to work out who we can get, how much we could get them for, and how good they might be - but it's not an exact science. If they've not played here we don't know how well they'll settle in England, how well they'll adapt to the Championship or how quickly they'll adapt. Getting a proven Championship striker is expensive, but it's more reliable. Getting someone for less from elsewhere is a gamble, which may or may not pay off.

The general consensus seems to be that cover for Baldock is our only concern. At the risk of sounding a little complacent, I wonder if our fabulous array of five fit wingers, once KLL returns to fitness. renders the need for cover almost academic? Especially as Hemed is probably the first choice for cover anyway.

As he has been a sick note for Brentford, selling him to whoever at 9 million would seem to be a no brainer. Is it a risk we should be taking? Not convinced at that price myself.

Macleod is a centre midfielder and he's only played 14 games for Brentford, ever. Where on earth do you get this stuff from?

He put the ball on a plate for Scott Hogan. Even Baldock would have scored it.

Whom haven't we bought that we could have?

Well for starters if we had got Murray in last January then I believe we would have gone up.

Not saying that we didn't try to get him in - I have no idea whether we did or didn't.

My original point was not meant as a criticism, just a general point that we've never splashed the cash in January. TB is even on record as saying he's not keen on doing much business in January isn't he?

I was merely agreeing that we're not likely to spend the type of figure being suggested on here for Hogan, in January. Especially when we're stronger than ever now.
