No not at all, I am not taking sides, the origins of the problems in the middle east go back years, parts of the Middle East have been carved up by colonial powers, artificial borders established, support for puppet dictators and monarchies, failed states. Syria and Assad is just part of this complex mess where the major powers have flitted between supporting difference sides depending on who best serves their particular purpose at a particular time. Whilst the US has over the past 70 years been a major cause of conflicts in the region Russia and the former Soviet Union also has a very checkered past.

Ultimately it is difficult to see any of the disputes in the region being fully solved by intervention from foreign military powers. Every time they get involved something even worse tends to crop up at some point further down the line.

Have just listened to his first words about his meeting with Obama. Said it was an "honour" to meet Obama. That coupled with yesterday's horrible "We all owe hillary a debt of gratitude for her service" is just horrific to watch.

I would have far more respect if he carried on being an obnoxious prick like he was throughout the campaign. But to now be all lovey darling with the very people he's been slagging off to get elected is just two faced.

Forget that wall. Forget the ban on Muslims entering the US. He won't do it. He's already shown it was all bluster and show to get elected. The ultimate keyboard warrior!

I'm afraid you are talking nonsense on this one Easy. There have been a LOT of protests against Trump throughout the entire campaign. Just to give an example of a couple in the State where I live:-

March 2016 - Protesters try to block access to Trump rally in Arizona

Aug 2016 - Hundreds protest Donald Trump's immigration speech in Phoenix

Fair enough, a few skirmishes then. The mass protests / burning effigies / riots we're seeing now still all seem pretty pointless to me though. Whats he going to do, stand down ?

Lets see if the Liberal US media shows a group of blacks beating up and robbing a white guy because he voted Trump.

One thing this election has shown is how many utter shit lords are part of the supposed progressive Democratic parties followers.

Totalitarian to the extreme as is often the case with these left wing hypocrites.

HaHa, don't hold back.

Well that's the stupid reasoning behind the "popular vote". That because New York and California have bigger populations than other states that somehow should translate into those states voters being placed above other states in importance simply because of their size.

Well I lived in California for a fair bit during the 80's and early 90's, it was incredibly violent, loads of gangs, Hispanics, Blacks and Neo Nazis, have to say I never considered it a hippy liberal place, maybe things have changed a bit.

Neither side is shrouded in glory but let's be honest in that we should be far more suspicious of Russia than of USA. Russian activities in the former members of the soviet bloc leave little to be desired. Crimea, Georgia, the ongoing threat to the Baltic states. That coupled with a media controlled by the state makes me far more suspicious of Putin and his cronies.

As for Syria, the problem is Assad.

Look since Cameron used the old WWIII with Russia rhetoric in his Brexit campaign you realise that our governments like to plant things in our heads to scaremonger. The Crimea is just another dispute like America and China have in the China sea and China are made to look like the bad guys, even though it's next to China ???

I do not fear Russia and I trust it's judgment on Syria. We need to lock up our own war criminals and set an example to those who we call war criminals.

Trump knew how to press the buttons of the uneducated yet surprisingly quite affluent bigots in the fly over states, I'd say Farage gave him some valuable tips.

Have you seen the 2006 wikileaks document that explains in detail how to cause unrest in Syria and overthrow Assad? It goes through vulnerabilities and possible actions.

Are they taking it too far ?? Well these rocket scientists are , but I'll guarantee it wonk make any major news channels, after all it's only a thick white "racist" trump supporter being attacked by justifiably concerned minority voters.

What a surprise, none of the "progressive " posters have managed to comment , if this had been Trump supporters attacking a black man they'd have been all over it.

I can guarantee I wouldn't have been "all over it", a few fights however distasteful, is not a news story in a country with 318 million people in it.
