Arrogance and risk, I really do think some MPs believe they are above the law these days

He does....years ago he was caught insider trading ,, when in the position of privileged information. Amazingly and shockingly, he is still in a position of public trust. The man is an obnoxious slimeball who should have been chucked out of politics years ago.

MPs, religious leaders, teachers, instructors, celebrities. They are all at dodgy stuff & you can't trust them. (A bit like we all are but don't get caught out - publicly at least)

The ultimate creepy snooper

Wayne Rooney has not been elected into the houses of Parliament to represent the interests of tens of thousands of people, and neither does he influence our laws or sit on parliamentary committees assessing matters such as immigration, prostitution or drug use.

Then let the Electrate decide in due course - Then let him resign but it is his choice................I guarantee you, Wayne Rooney is a supposed role model and better known to more people than Keith Vaz

If Vaz (allegedly) wants to pay Romanian male prostitutes to felch his hairy cum spattered prolapsed arse whilst high on coke and amyl nitrate then I think it should only be fair that his fellow MPs and the broader electorate should be fully aware of the predilection save there is any conflict of interest.

I care not one jot how he spends his money or how hairy his arse is. I have no interest in it but if others do then let them vote accordingly but not once did I say this it did not deserve to be brought to the public attention. Indeed in a later post I mentioned as much that it comes with the territory of being in the public eye

I suspect just like his wife the broader electorate didn't.

If you can't understand this dynamic then maybe the remainers in the Brexit have a point about people being to thick to vote.

The fact that I don't have the sanctimonious morals of a church on Sunday or Mosque on Friday or Schul on Saturday doesn't make me thick

On this matter I think it does, unless you can justify why a publicly elected parliamentary representative with influence on laws relating to immigration, prostitution and drugs and who has never publicly disclosed his predilection for Romanian male prostitutes and class A drugs has been caught in a media sting involving Romanian male prostitutes and class A drugs.

It's not difficult for those with some mental coherence to understand, Wayne Rooney's conduct or religion has absolutely nothing to do with this story.........over to you.

Quite simply because I don't care what he does in private. I care not one jot whether he takes drugs or how hairy his arse is or whether he likes Romanian prostitutes. It is none of my business and I did not say that it did not deserve to be made public and for to let the electorate decide for themselves.

To some people - other peoples private lives matter. To me it does not and if it did I would buy the Sun on Sunday or Hello magazine. I do not.

I take an interest in current affairs and historical matter and am educated to University level. I wouldn't say I am any more learn-ed than anyone else on here but I am most definitely not thick. I know people from all walks of life and from many different backgrounds and although I may have views on things I try not to judge people if I can help it because in life I can only take responsibility for myself and no one else

Oh dear.

For publicly elected representatives everything they do in private is RELEVANT if it has any effect on their public roles.

Vaz chairs a very powerful parliamentary home affairs committee that assesses and influences the law on matters including immigration, prostitution and drugs.

Notwithstanding the straightforward legalities of his conduct as a citizen, if he (as an MP and Chairman of the Home Affairs committee) wants to (allegedly) employ immigrant male prostitutes and consume class A drugs then this should be on public record so that the public are not deceived. He should also disclose it as a conflict before such matters are discussed.

His views and his parliamentary committee has recently sought to relax laws on prostitution and exempt poppers from the legal high ban, accordingly his conduct is just another nail in the coffin of public trust in our political class, a man who has previously sailed close to the wind previously on expenses and corruption.

If this story is true then it's a disgrace..........he should resign.

Anyone thinking otherwise evidently can't understand the nature of MPs roles and their conflict of interests..........its got nothing to do with whether you have a degree.

Vaz is fast learning the old adage "judge not, lest ye be judged" .

Narcissistic, condescending self-publicist who has now been shown to be the hypocrite many always suspected he was.

I generally agree with your stance normally but not this time. What you've posted is ridiculous. He's done nothing illegal it would appear so it is his, and his wife's business. You keep banging on his influential place on the committee covering drugs and prostitution and as he dabbles in both he can't be trusted to form a balanced opinion ( that's what your posts keep implying )..... he's also an immigrant so using your logic he can't form a balanced view on that either.

As far as I'm concerned MPs can get up to whatever they like in their sex lives just as long as it's legal and involves consenting adults. It's none of my business and I do not wish to know about it.

It could be argued that someone that has used drugs and prostitutes is better placed to assess the laws on drugs and prostitution. People are always complaining about career MPs that have no experience of the real world. I applaud Keith Vaz's selfless commitment.

What gets me about Keith Vaz, is he is always the most superior, supercilious git whenever he is quizzing the people that comes before his committee.

There will be along list of people who he has slagged off who will be loving this story

He's the king of committees, sub committees , commissions and he is a smug ****. I hope he's gone now.
I remember when his time came and he was questioned........never believed a word.
