Lansbury was woeful the other week. A shadow of the player he was
Averaging a goal every 5 appearances he's hardly the 'number 10' CH is looking for.

I may be in a minority of one here but I couldn't be much more disappointed if I tried.
From what I've seen of Duffy I really don't rate him above being a bang average championship defender.
Good with his head, but error prone and easily pulled out of position.
I'm glad we signed a CB but believe we could have done better, I know he's an international etc etc, but I couldn't care less about that, what I care about is Brighton and us not having defenders on the pitch that are likely to give the opposition chances and ultimately be blameworthy for goals every match. Colin Hawkins MK2.
God I hope I'm wrong. With that said, if he gets into the side, he will have my full support and I truly hope he can perform at a level that makes this post look incredibly silly.
Bet Blackburn are rubbing their hands and the rest of the promotion contenders are laughing their arses off at us.
Please please please prove me wrong Shane.

I trust we can be sure CH has approved the purchase and wants him. He has said as much.

Presumably he has seen something he can work with. He's only comparatively young, and Messrs Hughton and Calderwood are former defenders who seem to have a knack of organising things in that department. I think you will be proved wrong.

Forest are playing him too deep so he was not able to hurt us, the first time ever.

And he was awful as he has been for the best part of a year now, not my opinion but that of Forest fans who see his disinterest and attitude problem week in week out. Thats nothing to do with where hes being played on the pitch. He still thinks hes a big shot because he came from Arsenal
So for 2 reasons its a no from me
1) he is in no way the number 10 type player Hughton is looking for
2) we dont need that kind of attitude in our squad.

I used to rate him though. 3 years ago he couldve been a decent signing

Waiting for the bus after the game there were many Forest fans that I was chatting too and they all said the same the manager is playing him too deep so he doesnt get forward enough to his best position and to attack teams.

I wonder who will be first choice when both are fit. Duffy or Goldson?

Assuming Dunk does not leave.

Goldson is definately the best out of the bunch, i would personally go for Goldson and Dunk but depends on the opposition i think Duffy and Hunemeier can play big parts for us as Bruno has filled the spot brillantly but he isnt a centre back, he is quality as full back and we need him in this position as he offers us a attacking threat, im even thinking do you reckon Hughton is thinking of playing 3 centre backs ? eg
Stockdale
goldson, duffy, dunk
Bruno and Rosenior as attacking full backs
Kayal and Stephens in middle of park
Knockhaert and March as attacking wingers and a lone forward
Hemed
Bench being
Maanpaa, Murphy, Murray, Baldock, Sidwell, Skalek and Bong.

It all depends if Duffy plays well whilst Goldson regains his fitness then Goldson will find it hard to get a look in. To be perfectly frank our Centre back options when everyone is fit is as the term goes "an embarrassment of riches" similar to our wide options. In both positions there aren't many teams that get close to the depth that we have.

Solid defender and Cardiff City's top scorer this year. Can't complain.

That's something that I had considered, however Hughton hasn't ever played that system. For that reason I will file it under very unlikely.

Always makes me laugh when people post this shit "embarrassment of riches" Go and look at the big clubs in this division to see how many CB's they have :ffsparr:

OK them, so "this shit" tell me a side who has better centre back and winger options than us. I'm all ears.

Not now because to be quite frank Dunk is the best CB in this division. After that i would say Elphick

Have you looked at Villa's,Newcastle's and Norwich squads ?

4 CB 's is standard for most teams. Granted we are heavy on wingers but certainly not on strikers or central midfield.

Who said 4 centre backs wasn't standard? I was talking about the quality that we possess hence the "embarrassment of riches" I'm still waiting for you to let me know has better options in the two aforementioned positions?
