I'd much prefer that option to travelling by train anyway, with the inevitable queuing to get on the Falmer bound trains at Brighton.
The only question is I guess, how far west along the 700 route are you? Anywhere much west of Littlehampton and the journey would take forever.

I hear those things are awfully loud.
There was a game towards the end of last season - I can't remember which it was now, that the club had a load of contingency buses in place in anticipation of Southern staff trying a stunt like this, as seemed possible at the time.

I would be interested to know how many travel by train to a game but say its only 5k, where will this extra 5,000 bus or coach space come from. For those of us who (in HB&Bis view are bad people as we support a team 30 miles away) who work and cannot 100% guarantee to get to a coach stop at the allotted time, although I imagine seagulls travel are pretty much full already, that is out of the question. So how many spare seats are there on buses.
I sorry but to suggest watching on TV, well thanks for that.
I dunno about a general P and R. Not ideal I grant you (but we can't find an ideal site), but at least people could come down all summer and every other Saturday during the football season. I'm aware of the problems of doing stuff National Parks, that's why I know no one wants to be seen to even try.
Sure, but by my count we currently have 14 home games on a Saturday. So it's free about 75% of the time on a Saturday.

I'm not even sure the club are allowed to turn down Sky. Didn't Leeds have a problem last season, because it's part of the Football League contract?

This may have been said in jest, but joking apart, this was included as part of the plan for a new stadium at Toad's Hole back in the 1980's..

Leeds was just about their nutter of a chairman, sky would have no control if the match was postponed for 24 hours, that would be the football leagues jurisdiction just like sky cannot demand the game starts on time if the police delay KO.

I imagine the 700 would be full by Littlehampton, anyway. It's not just football fans who'll be looking for an alternative to the train.
Don't you folks have bicycles stored away somewhere? I'm 58 but cycled 22 miles on Tuesday on a heavy, single-speed bike.
Is there a chance the track could bend?

Ridiculous! I work in London and have no alternative but train travel!
Frustrated at paying for both a train and football season ticket and looks as though ill be watching this on tv....IF I get home before 7.45 due to the ****ing strikes!!
