For someone who has just claimed that he cannot tolerate the intolerance and general name calling, and was going to leave the thread in a cloak of moral superiority, you are doing a pretty good job yourself of continuing what you claim to find distasteful. It is human nature, I suppose, to want to feel good about oneself, and threads such as these do attract such characters, who are only too happy to call others racist, even when no racism is intended. And what better avenue that an anonymous outlet such as this.

Coming from a background in history and archaeology and having thousands of similar debates one thing we all agree on is that if someone scampers off to look up the dictionary definition of a phrase or word rather than explain what they mean in their own words, it's a given they don't know what they are talking about.

i did explain what I meant inmy own words, i had to get a dictionary as my words were being taken out of context for cheap point scoring.

India came under direct British rule in 1857 and if you check any historical references it was referred to as a British colony.
