Guns. How can everyone having guns make you safe? It is just so mind numbingly stupid. Of course police officers feel threatened, everyone feels threatened. Tragic.

its all mad isnt it....but spare a thought
few years back my sister came out of a relationship and was alone,she was living in fairly rural florida. there was a spate of very violent home intrusions in the area. She was naturally concerned,she decided to buy a gun.
I chose the gun for her and went with her to a gun club so she could learn how to use it responsibly

But this is the important part,for her the gun is the very very last option only to be used when she thinks thats it i will be dead if if i dont use it
her prefered option in case of a knob invading her home is to retreat to the closet and scream i have a gun leave the house now

how do people protect themselves against twats with guns if you cant arm yourself

its a cycle of moronic bullcrap i agree but as it stands guns do make you safer against other people with guns......its a sad reality

I was dating a girl from Houston in the 80's.

She used to keep a hand gun in the bedside cabinet. When I asked her why, she told me that an intruder had tried getting in through a window, she called the police after the incident when she had aimed the gun at the intruder and warned him off.

The police told her that she should have shot him.

If guns were banned, the twats wouldn't have them (I'm not suggesting there would never be any guns, but the numbers would be limited).

Very sad but not totally unexpected, people dying because of guns leads to more guns and more "nervous reactions " and anger and fear... so what do you do ? Yep, you get a gun. The cycle will continue sadly and inevitably.

Normally he responds to shootings saying the public need guns to defend themselves when police aren't there.

The police were looking for a suspect who was wearing camo's...on the demo.... carrying (legally) an assault rifle.... he wasnt involved in the shootings, but ...people carrying military grade assault weapons in public just sounds lunatic to me. Wasnt the 2nd amendment about militias? shooting squirrels?...

I am sure this may have been already mentioned and I am not diminishing the gravity of this crime, but how many white men and women have been killed and is there a known profile of the policemen that kill another race, if you know what I mean .... ?

There was a total of 1,126 in 2015 and heard on news it is 500+ this year so a quarter of deaths are black.

Who killed who is another matter. I guess the authorities keep those statistics.

Is this down to racism or fear of getting killed themselves? There are a lot of dangerous people with guns in the US and 91% of black people mudered are killed by their own people.
