Not anti Tattoo, but I have never seen anything I liked enough to want it on my arm for the rest of my days. There are some fantastic artists working in this medium now.

I'm contemplating getting an arm piece, around 25% of my mates have tats and they all look good!

May look good (in your opinion) now, but how will they look in 25 years time?

Slightly faded , but they will mean exactly the same to that individual as they did they day they had them done , if not they will have been removed , making a sweeping statement everybody who has a tattoo is somehow less of a decent human being is a load of old bollox as you well know .

What about legs or back?

Never quite understood having a back tattoo, only ever see it yourself if you try to, in a mirror, only ever seen by strangers on holiday or your missus when she dons the strap on and pegs you.

Who cares what they look like in 25 years time, if thought about correctly then they should be nothing to be ashamed of and are mark on your body of a time and place you were at in your life and should make you smile.

You strike me as a miserable person, doom and gloom I hate this I hate that, why open up a thread you clearly have no interest in other than to tell people that you think they are wrong and your right...

Who cares get a life.

I agree with this (not sure about the miserable person bit). I got a seagull on my shoulder when I was 40 and the name and date of birth of my my first child on my forearm when I was 48. These two things are very precious to me. Very happy to have them and will never regret whatever they look like in 25 years.

Thought about it but never had one done. I might yet though.

My uncle had a load when he was a boy-about-town in the 1970's, mixing with a lot of shady folk. some years later he move in more respectable circles and he had them removed. It cost him a damn sight more than having them put on.
