Exactly. All a bunch of lying scum. However team Leave on here seem to still believe that the lies are one sided despite them being shown the facts. See pastafarian's myopic nonsense above.

Well quite, the two sides are in government together. One day's lies, deceit, scaremongering, is tomorrow's working together to run the country.

Remain said the NHS would lose 10 billion, go figure. My question is if we remain and we got in to recession, since they won't be able to blame brexit, who will they blame then?
I'm sure we'll have a recession soonish anyway and to be frank we've had a few of those since we've been in the EU.
It's a bit of a drama with the "in" camp as the point is clear that we don't need to be sending money to Brussels as they're a glorified agency and we can spend the money here as well as the extra billions we will make as we prosper outside the EU.
The NHS won't improve as it is amongst many other things that are wrong in our society ...Nothing good about the EU and it's time to leave this crumbling organisation.

Agree with you that Leave have tried to counter using similar tactics but the shear weight of the Government machine plus the opposition and most other parties ,Big Business, Banks, EU, European establishment numerous world leaders dwarfs anything I have ever seen.

Yes Tories certainly are efficiently ruthless.

I haven't even seen much from the Lib Dems or Labour, swap ruthless for toothless....

Have sky news gone completely biased towards the out camp?
Seems it was 50/50 then 60/40 then 70/30 then 80/20 and now 90/10....ridiculous although most have made their mind up anyway :)

No nonsense above at all

people agree Turkey joining is a bad idea
no one says Turkey will NEVER join
Turkey will eventually join.

calls that brexiters are racist xenophobic and Islamophobic are simply accusations being thrown out of desperation

They will only join if they meet the 35 criteria. If they met the criteria then Turkey would be a very different country to the one it is now. There is absolutely no chance of this happening any time soon but if it did it would be a good thing as Turkey would have been completely reformed (likelihood at the moment zero).

The article is about Johnson & Gove LYING about this. Which you've conveniently ignored and instead picked a sentence out that fits your agenda. Ergo, myopic nonsense.

You are aware that France and Germany let Greece join the Euro in full knowledge of the Greeks lying about their deficit aren't you and since joining, Greece has never ever made the target and rather than apply pressure on Greece to get its house in order 10 years ago, they just changed the rules on the anti-debt stability pact - and of course the Germans and French forced a huge arms deal on the Greeks as their way of ganging up on their small partner. And when the Eurozone got together the funds for the last Greek bailout, they broke another golden rule by dipping into the ring-fenced EU collateral fund of which we're a contributor to help pay for it.

This is how the EU works in practice. There's no accountability, there's no democracy and there's no rule they won't break in furtherance of their aims. If Germany want Turkey to join the EU then Germany will fix it so that Turkey joins the EU and there's nothing you or I can do about it.

Leave has now become the dirty word again. The only thing I will take from this, if we Remain at least I didn't vote for it.
Feels like Leave are slowly being stitched up now, watch Remain and the media start to turn on the key figures in Leave.

Exactly. All you can do is warn people. If we Remain it will interesting seeing this all unravel. No point people moaning, because the chance to get the hell out of this madhouse would have gone by then.

Of course - but I'm not sure that means they are obviously supportive of one political party or the other. The FT is pro-business (clearly), and that has defined its approach to the EU referendum, but it has published articles supportive of Brexit.

Very true. There was a very good article a few days ago that completely blew out the water the Independent's claim that capital was leaving the UK in fear of Brexit. Absolutely nothing of the sort is true and the FT went into detail to explain why so,

But presumably there would be more we could do about it in rather than out?

Like we could stop the collateral fund being robbed to pay for the Greek bailout? This chart is an excellent indication of just how much influence we have in the Council of Ministers. It charts the number of times countries have been on the losing vote.

We're the 2nd highest net contributor but we have absolutely no influence at all. None. Anyway, if we vote Brexit then Turkey's EU membership won't be our problem.

Turkey EU membership

It is moving down the process for entry which is why the EU is giving them €4.5 Billion (some of it our money) to make further progress. It has according to the BBC European Referendum fact checking site made the most progress of all of the seven candidate countries. Yes only one chapter has been completed but In only four of the 35 Chapters has no preparation/progress been made.

The accession process will be re-energised, with Chapter 33 to be opened during the Dutch Presidency of the Council of the European Union and preparatory work on the opening of other chapters to continue at an accelerated pace;

As others have said we should all think long term, Turkey may not be ready to join now but in 5 or 10 years can anyone guarantee they won't be?

I guess he's either been banned, or is lying low as he realises he's been a complete and utter tit?

(Now expect that tiresome Bladders idiot to post, in his usual reverse rebuttal style as that's the only line he has, "I'm surprised you aren't lying low")

Aha, the German Von Nasty, vith the sly comments is back. I shall have to trawl back to last night, as explained about half hour ago, i have been at work since 6am and do not get on the net in the day atm.
Why would i be banned oh insulting one?

Jesus christ, just seen the Brexit broadcast. Seemed to be a tissue of lies from start to finish! What is it with the people running that campaign, why can't they be honest. We don't spend £350m on the EU each week and those politicians in the leave campaign certainly haven't signed up to any commitment to spend an extra £350m on the NHS. Turkey are not about to join the EU any time soon. They might want to but they are not meeting the vast majority of the requirements. It's taken them about 30 years to meet only one of the 33 conditions required.

They implied that we are going to get loads of Turks flooding here after the referendum as Cameron has agreed visa free travel. Well that is only in the Schengen area, which we are not part of!

Do they tell these lies because they are trying to win the votes of ignorant people who only listen to headlines?

They would have more credibility had they at the outset merely stated that the EU costs £175m a week. Most people would agree that that is a large sum of money however they lied from the start and of course once you start telling a lie you have to keep it up.

The remain campaign aren't great but I'm not sure they have continually lied as much as Brexit!!

No doubt the Brexit faithful will beg to differ!!!

Yes, there is because we (and every other member of the EU) have the option of a veto on anyone else joining.

So unless everyone agrees (including Greece and Cyprus, never going to happen) then Turkey won't be joining. And even if a miracle happened and Cyprus was reunified and they and Greece wanted Turkey in (!) then WE could still veto it.

Turkey is a non issue and making it one is lying.

As you say absolutely disgraceful, Remain really have left no stone unturned in scaring the living daylights out of the electorate.

I think this campaign will go down in history as a text book operation in how to manipulate the electorate to get the desired result in a referendum.
I agree with every single word of this post, apart from the sixth.

Stop press - a leaflet from Leave just came through my door, saying that Turkey and its 72m people are now 'set' to join the EU. There's a map presumably designed to illustrate how they will be joined by Syrian refugees and terrorists.
