I've got £40 at 250/1 on Palace being relegated.

It's like all those Leicester fans with their bets on at 5000/1 only in reverse :)

In a normal season they'd be right in the mire now, but I think as few as 35 points will be enough to stay up this term.

Just can't see two of Sunderland, Newcastle and Norwich going on a decent enough run to reach 40 or even 38 points.

One of them might, but to hope for two of them to do it is like hoping for a miracle.

From the Telegraph

True, Newcastle and Sunderland look equally forlorn, but the former is about to appoint a new manager - which so often provides a pick-me-up - and the latter boasts improving form under a coach, Sam Allardyce, who is battle-hardened in survival scraps.

Am I reading that correctly, Newcastle ready to appoint new manager? That and Sam starting to pick up points could make things interesting.

I think you'll be OK.

Weren't you one of the people proudly announcing you'd be making a run for the European places earlier on in the season? How's that working out?

I don't remember that, But we were 5th of something at Christmas. I'm sure a few of you guys may have mentioned getting promoted around the same time, It's only natural.

Are you in any way tempted to close that bet out? (you can lay at 24 on Betfair right now). Although, I'd probably keep a large chunk of the bet open, especially if Newcastle do replace Schteve!

Still 27 points to play for so Champs League still a possibility so won't laugh here yet...

Although would be nice for Palace to lose points in the last min of a game from a blatant dive (given it was the basis for their promotion), but as of yet I can't remember the last time a bad decision cost them points :(

Newcastle need to sack the CLOWN now as if they do there is still a glimmer of hope for them. Big Sam should never be written off either.

It's a big ask but these two could just get out of it and if they do then the most likely team to replace them in the bottom three is definitely Palace.

Just need the stars to align (and Pardew not to be sacked). He's taken them from 5th to 15th and current form would see them only getting 2 points from the rest of their games.

It's going to take some luck and incompetence but Pardew CAN do it!

Just heard a rumour that they have, and replaced him with Gary Megson.:ffsparr:
