Tell me about it. Just finished the most miles per week of my life and where am I in the table? FIFTH. Effing fifth. Some bloke who did a 14 miler today just leapfrogged me too

I suppose we will have to be happy with a play off position......I like the pace per mile league, where I am always fighting to stay out of the relegation zone.

I did Tunbridge Wells half today. I wanted to see how I was doing in preparation for Brighton Marathon. Not too bad considering there's an absolute killer of a hill between 6.5 -8 miles which I really felt.
Somehow only 19 seconds off my pb.

Great effort and see you finished strongly. How was the course? From reviews sounds very good.

Well done. I finished in a slightly disappointing 1:42:42. Was hoping to be nearer 1:40 and started well keeping ahead of the Pacers then started really feeling the effects of a week's skiing in my legs especially after the big hill. Struggled through to the finish to get a nice high five from Kelly Holmes. On the plus side it's a HM pb and some six minutes quicker than the same event last year which was also the day after getting back from skiing.so I guess I ought to be pretty pleased!

It's a good event similar to Barns Green in size and that most of it is on scenic country lanes- except for the start and finish in TW. I'd say it's not quite as hard as BG but those hills in the middle section are pretty tough.

Roll on getting back into full on training next week.

haha oh o.. i thought i could hear the sound of an empty wine glass on a coffee table! The man is a machine.

Im off in a mo for a lazy 7 miler leg stretcher

Almost spooky...or you have very, very good hearing. Light week ahead as working away and restricted to a bit of treadmill stuff. I'll be relegation fodder this week :) Only plus point is that I will be at altitude, so might get a bit of a bounce next week LOL

Back to back weekends are bloody hard........fear I have a few more coming over the next few weeks.

I've just remembered - weren't we meant to be doing an NSC parkrun challenge in February?

Yes. I kept it quiet and managed to win as only NSC entrant!

I think there were too many half marathons entered. I for one will not be going 100% till after BM but would be good to catch up with everyone if you all set one.

I think we set it for the 13/2 initially. I've always enjoyed the reverse loop on Paddy's day so that would be my preference for next NSC park run challenge.

Good idea. Meant to be faster that way round. I'm not up to any challenges but will turn up for a reined in gallop. The day before is my annual all day Cheltenham Gold Cup day drinking session in the Albion pub and the day after is the Hastings Half.

I'd be up for a Park Run challenge some time after Brighton Marathon. It will make a welcome change from plodding! Probably not before then though between kids' football coaching and the marathon plan.

So, here it is. Half Marathon week.

And just as sods luck would have it, I feel horrendously ill today! I'm sure it's my body panicking.

Anyway, I wanted to get one more long run in today and then completely stop until race day. Would that be wise? It's more for a bit of a morale boost than physically preparing!
