I'm happy to join and be a FOUNDING MEMBER of this great institution. In 2022, when he captains England to the sweatiest World Cup in living memory in Qatar, I can look back and say "I was there".

I hope Shrewsbury have a sell on clause, because what ever we paid for him we mugged them.

An excellent example of the talent in the lower leagues. If carefully and thoroughly scouted they can come in and make a massive contribution more or less from the word go and at a fraction of the price for ex-premier league players and many overseas players.

I'm in the club. Knockers, Murphy, Rosenior & Bong have stiff competition for 'best signing' if he season. He's certainly a match for March as young player of the season (if he qualifies?).

Regarding his attitude, a few months ago I stumbled across an exchange between Connor and a Shrewsbury fan on Twitter. It went like this

Demonstrating an attitude far beyond many players.

Edit. For some reason I can't embed Connor's response, here's a link

I think Connor has had a great start to his Albion career. I wouldn't say that he is quite at Dunk's level just yet. Dunk gets a lot of criticism on here, and he does have a clanger in him, but his pace as a CB is a rare commodity.

Can you cut & paste or type it, as most won't be able to see it.

I'm in.....similar theme on the 'CB pairing' thread. He's no 1 of our 4 for me, future captain, future England material.

I think there was general confidence in him when he signed, it's funny how sometimes you can just sense that someone is going to be a good player. He's good with his feet, he scored plenty of goals for Shrewsbury so he has the potential to be a threat at set pieces and I haven't seen anything to suggest he's particularly sluggish - he looks a very good player and he deserves a lot of respect for biding his time, bedding into the squad and then taking his chance. First choice centre back for me now, it's a question of who partners him when all are fit.

Agree with the sentiment on this thread, but you've highlighted that issue of scoring at set-pieces, and it just emphasises that none of our defenders has got on the score sheet in the Championship this season. We really need to change this, and set the target for five(?) goals for our centre backs, because we know that it might be too much to ask simply on shutting out goals, and expecting our strikers and wide players to make enough points for what we want.

So he sort of passed me by as I tend to watch the midfield and forward line more. So last weekend the guy next to me said how well he was doing and told me to watch him instead. Very impressed

I'm in. Dunk just looks more secure with him than with GG. He looks so calm and in control of his environment. As has been said earlier, we mugged Shrewsbury whatever we paid for him.

It's a bit early to stick a price on his head but a big THIS to all the rest.

£10m player in the making, is what I meant. If he stays injury free possibly more. Even at the moment - I wouldn't take less than £4m. Look how Afobe's value went from £2m to £10m in a year. Big clubs (and Bournemouth) will splash out for talent.

Sign me up.

Extremely talented footballer who not only is very strong in the tackle, can read a game and ping a fabulous pass.

What is there not to like.

Was outstanding against Brentford. Had a tougher time against Bolton- well, Heskey- I thought, and it was probably his most average game so far, but the best players learn from those experiences. I didn't go to Hull, but I take it that he was very good, given the clean sheet against Hernandez & co?

Looks to have all the attributes to me. Strong, good in the air, confident, calm on the ball, an eye for a pass, tough tackling, and that's just on the pitch. From what we've seen, he also seems to be incredibly grounded, with a sensible head on his shoulders

Being greedy...imagine if he can add the goals that he was quite well known for at Shrewsbury: he'll be just about perfect. Said a couple of weeks back that I think he'll be worth an awful lot of money to the Albion one day. Nothing I've seen since then has changed that opinion.
