Delighted there's Broetzmann love-in on NSC. Less delighted that I'm on holiday on that date, missing not only the great man, but also us whop Burnley.

Holidays are right pains at times; Floating Points is bringing his band to Berlin on Sunday when I'm away.

the glowing reviews of Field Music's new LP made me pull my finger out and grab one of the last few tickets for their gig at The Haunt. Which I must say I am very much looking forward to,

Happy to add my name to the Brotzmann appreciation group. Also, rather fond of the guitar mangling noise that his son, Caspar, produces, albeit all too infrequently these days.

Is anyone going to see Ulrika Spacek on Friday at The Albert? Their debut released last week is doing it for me, I'm sure they'll hit the spot for plenty on here. Deerhunter/ Stereolab/ Television/ Radiohead vibes.

Steve Mason tomorrow n'all.

Can't say I was massively fussed by Molly Nillson last night. The kids seem to love her though.

I saw Casper performing in a three-piece with Blixa Bargeld a few years ago. Im not quite sure how to describe what I saw and heard but I'll certainly never forget it.

Suede excellent. The new album is played initially with an accompanying film on a mesh screen in front of the band. Then a short break before everyone gets a chance to shake their bits to the hits.

There was an annoying sound issue with certain bass frequencies, though it could have just been where I was standing but that aside Steve Mason was very good.

I counted 5 excellent tracks from his new record, which bodes well.
