He had presenting bang on. I never ever watched the Eurovision stuff, but often switched on after the songs because his work during the results section was first class.

A calm and warm fella. Sad loss.

Any one else remember a live show he did from Volks Railway in the early 80's ? Just after the nuddy beach opened.

RIP Terry Wogan. A cherished accompaniment to my drive to drop of the kids at school and then on to work. Tears of laughter not good at the wheel of a car when listening to him trying to complete a ridiculous 'Janet and John' story!

Very sad. I did briefly meet him once and he was a genuinely lovely man.

Shocked about this. A much loved broadcaster, KING of Eurovision and an absolutely brilliant ambassador for Children in Need helping to raise many millions. Will be greatly missed.

Just seemed to be an ever-present in my growing up. Just hearing the name made me think of my uncle listening to his radio show, George Best turning up pissed on the chat show, Kenny Everett bending his mic on Blankety Blank and his brilliant Eurovision commentaries. A dry wit and by all account a lovely man, RIP.

I'm starting to feel really old :(
