Quote: "He wanted us to break our wage structure"......really, then how come CMS was brought in to replace him on a bigger wage than he was being offered, considerably more actually.

That's what I recall the club saying.

He wanted us to break our wage structure he thought he was billy big bollocks, yes he is good in the air, but going to Palarse was just disrespecting the fans because he couldn't get his own way he could have gone elsewhere.

He will never be remembered in the same way as wardy, nelson, byrne, Small and Zamora.

He proved to be Billy big bollocks though and helped us to get promoted. He wanted to stay close to where he lived so came to us. I take it if your wages were doubled or maybe tripeld you would not leave?

No way were the wages being tripled, the players had just come up from League 1 to the Championship so they would get a rise. I believe Glenn was not offered much of a rise, wanted a bit more, was offered 4000 a week more by Palarse (making 192,000 a year more) was prepared to except half of that rise (£2000) and was turned down.
He was about 28 years old, went to Palace, did not celebrate when he scored against us, and has done well for himself and family.

You probably did, does not mean that it was true.
So why did the club lie then???

I personally try to look at the wider picture and I have a strong sense of loyalty,I also don't feel the need for greed. Maybe I am in the minority but I have no affection for Murray because of his apparent greed.

That's what I heard glen asked for more money as that's what other clubs were prepared to pay him. He didn't even want as much as them. Yet Poyet had his eye on CMS. So the club said Glen wage demands were outside the clubs wage structure and yet got CMS on more wages then Glen was asking.

Worst transfer since Saunders and in fairness it seems like it was Poyets choice given Blooms limitations. Following FFP screwed us. The situation as Poyet said will continue to get worse unless we reach the premiership.

Where is the evidence he wasn't? CMS would've been on a higher wage than Murray. A player that smashed the club record transfer fee would clearly command that. It's not rocket science.

It's not rocket science that's right. It's pure speculation on your part with zero evidence of your view being factual in any way.

There is zero evidence either way Mr Biggums so don't jump all over me. Speculative or not, I believe CMS to have been on a much higher wage than Murray. End of.

Exactly, spot on, unless Glenn was telling porkies which i have no reason to think he was.

So the reason we are where we are and Palace are in the Prem is all down to Poyet? ???

If Murray does come back it makes the last 5 years a total waste of time really.

With Murray we would have been promoted in 1 or 2 seasons by the sounds of it.

Yeah, because no other player with his ability wants to earn more money and all of them would've got on just fine with Poyet.

When I said tripled, I was just going by what I had read on here. But I thought we at least doubled his wages. Either way he did what was right for his family and himself.

So if another company offered to double your wages you would not leave? I would be off like a shot. As the only loyalty I truly have is to my family and providing for them.
If Palace offered your son a professional contract on 20k a week and Brighton offered 1k a week, what would you tell him to do, honestly?

As to this loyalty word, Murray is not a Brighton boy amd not even born in Brighton.

I believe, as said, that he was on £7000 a week in League 1 and offered £9000 in the Championship with Brighton.

Right now Glenn Murray seems to be third on the pecking order behind Afobe and Grabban (Callum Wilson being injured for the rest of the season) and ahead of the younger Gratel and Rantie and smaller and younger loan player (winger?) Iturbe.

It does make sense to borrow him for the end of season in case of injuries. Bournemouth have 27 Over 21 players, so they will have to leave two out.

Not sure it will be Glenn Murray. Their end of the season may need him, more so than us.

I does not seem likely to me ????
