Pembury took the 10k crown last year with a sub 40 effort, I'll need to put in a career best performance to compete with that.

I put that down to my 'just of the box' day glow brooks racer st's.. they blinded everyone... and a dodgy tummy... the quicker i got it done, the quicker i could 'relax'!

You should easily get a sub 39 pos sub 38?

Is it time for an official NSC Running Thread distance record chart ? (official races only counting, with verified published times). Any other distances ?

5k
10k
Half marathon
Marathon
20m
50k
50m
London to Brighton
100m

The other thing I was idly thinking about given most of our chatter is finding an official beer mile to enter. That would be a title worth having [emoji3]

What's a beer mile? Do you down a beer and then run a mile? If I ever go under 20 minutes at Parkrun I'm gonna spend the rest of my pitiful life running it drunk every Saturday, or trying out similar trials (running it after a tub of ice cream, in a set of overalls, having a shot of Tuaca every 500m etc etc.)

Doesn't have to be this formal, but gives you an idea - 4.47 world record.........

I don't think I'll have any records as I know there have been some fine historical performances in the past. knocky1 had a purple patch around the summer of 76 recording some impressive times so he tells me.

5k - 18:56 Hove Prom Park Run 2016
10k - 40:39 brooks 10k 2015
10 mile - 1:08:37 - mince pie 10 2015 - have run quicker in training
Half marathon - 1:32:22 - Brighton 2015
Marathon - 3:29:22 - Brighton 2015

Would be interesting to know the quickest mile but very few if any races for this so would have to be training times. I've done 5:53 but that was a while ago and I'm certain I could go under 5:45 now.

Think you'd be a way under 5.45 with your pace. I've done a 6.02 recently as part of a longer session, reckon you'd be in the 5.20s. Give it a go!

No, no, no. I peaked at 13 at 800m and 1500m. Previous best run was 1972 taking Steve Ovett's U-13 or U-12 Brighton & Hove Schools 400m record in a slow 67.5 seconds. Won by nearly 100m. I can probably dig out that time.

From then on I nosedived into oblivion. At Hove Grammar sport was frowned on by pupils. At one sports day 2 boys got caned for deliberately not trying. One of them the best High Jumper, for repeatedly head butting the bar at a low height. These were the champions of the 1970's. Lade is remembered at reunions not athletes.

The purple patch was in Riyadh in 1995 when 36 years old. I was in the Hash House Harriers for 18 months and enjoyed the desert running. No records of times as all on paper on the notice board. So no times can officially count but:
5k 17:45
10k 19:52

So no proof, no time as @ Dazzer6666 has said.
Best recent effort is as a 52 year old 2:37:50 at Windsor Olympic Triathlon but that's for another thread.

All I do know is I have fallen behind relative to my own ability and need to get back on track.

10k in 19.52.......most of your times are excellent anyway, but that one stands out :-D

First run with the Riyadh Road Runners and only 10k run with them. Following my 5k x 2 + 1 rule 36:30 should have been an achievable run 12 months later.........

As AG grading both times are worse than this years times!

That's very slow for a 100m. You're no Usain Bolt. :lolol:
