It was the insinuation that the recruitment team are just sat twiddling their thumbs though

That was just a knock at nothing appearing to happen, as obviously they re working on deals, although in fairness we hear nothing till it is a done deal and signed, but it is frustrating that nothing is even in the papers of possible targets or rumours. I suppose that isnt a bad thing generally.

I could be wrong but I don't think there will be any loan deals done. Loan deals done now, the cost would be deducted from the budget available in January - Chris knows what his January budget available is. Does he decide to spend some of that now on a loan player ? I don't think he will.

He did try for a loanee left back a few weeks ago but when that didn't materialize I have a feeling he decided to settle for what he has and strengthen more in January.

So in summary, you've been a bit of a twit.

7 Games till January and a bad run could make it too late and possibly even slip out of the play offs let alone automatic spot. Was there only 1 left back available?

That would have been prior the Baldock injury... its a striker we really need now not a left back, although i would ideally want both.

I dont think a loan for a couple of months would impact on our Jan budget when we are rumoured to be potentially spendng millions on a striker....

Either way, we need a striker in today, or we will soon fall of the pace.

So true even if we had to pay all of a loanees wages of £30k a week in terms of the possible return.

Exactly this. We sign a striker that chips in with a couple of goals that we wouldn't have had without them, how much could those goals be worth come the end of the season? Obviously it's a risk but it's a risk i think we would be better taking. Short term fix but that's sometimes what it takes, we just need to get to January remaining in contention and sort or striking issues then on a more permanent basis. Fingers crossed!

I think CH is wrong we are desperate for at least a striker and preferably a left back as well. Unfortunately other than possibly GM there doesnt appear to be a Jason Roberts or Kevin Phillips about to loan.

Birmingham City have agreed a deal to sign Rotherham defender Greg Halford on loan. #BCFC #RUFC

That's a boost for Saturday.

Do you really think he's going to publicly say that?

He could have said we will soldier on with what we have as they have done well but would ideally like to bring somebody in. Not come out and say we are not desperate which gives the impression that he isnt really concerned about bringing somebody in or not.

To be honest, you haven't got a clue what CH is thinking, or what has been going on with the recruitment team. You just like pontificating on Nsc.

You know what? Now that the deadline is approaching I find I'm not really all that bothered. Yes, it would be lovely to bring in a striker who could smash in goal after goal for the next seven matches, and a left back so we didn't have to make do with LR playing there - but if it doesn't happen, we've still got enough to rub along with until January, IMHO.
Maybe staying in the top two is a bit beyond us, but I don't see the season falling to pieces as some on here are predicting.

All I tried to do was give my opinion and insight - I think you need to trust the Manager on these things. After all, he hasn't done so badly so far this season
