I'm sure the injury is minor, and just takes the pressure off a little to see him in the first team immediately.

So if we can add Marshall and possibly Zamora.....then that would be brilliantly satisfactory?

All signings must be looked at as a group, and we do not choose the order they arrive in.

Hughton wants 4 more, and I suggest these are :

Striker
Right Winger
Left Winger
Central Defender.

In the context of the above arrivals, Harper is an excellent addition, and a great signing.

That lat will get times more Scotland caps than Jordan Rhodes will amass in his career and will be worth a lot more than Rhodes in the future - Why pay £14 million when you can get better for Nothing. This is absolutely brilliant business in the transfer market

Blimey. There is just absolutely NO WAY of knowing that yet.

I think some people just need to calm down a bit. The sheer hype surrounding this kid is getting ridiculous. He's a very decent prospect, but at this stage of his fledgling career that's ALL he is, he's proved nothing yet. I'll be thrilled if he turns out to be half as good as what some people seem to already think he is (based on what I'm not quite sure). Just give this young lad some time to adjust, he's never even had a sniff of 1st team football yet. The Championship will be a huge step up to any game he's played in so far.

So explain this to me - He passed a medical but has a long term knee injury - how can he pass a medical then

I've always a medical was more based on how fit a player would be in the future rather than "Are they fit now?"

I'm guessing the club would have been looking at if the injury is likely to be a reoccurring one and checking out how he will develop physically over the next few years etc rather than how fit he was now.

We must sign at least one winger, ideally two but we must also find someone to replace Tex. A creative midfielder with some guile, who can pick a pass and score some goals. We badly need someone like that.
We're just over two weeks away from the start of the new season, at the moment it's difficult to see who's going to provide the goal scoring opportunities.

Zamora would be unnecessary now. Need a couple of wingers/creative types and a CB (2 if Dunk goes) and then we will be set for a decent season IMO
You think our strike force is ready?

See this is what worries me. "Brighton sign Real Madrid striker"....instantly heaping MAHOOOSIVE expectations on this kids shoulders. .

BBC (and ITV Sport and a wealth of other accounts have all done this in covering this. Its a story and thats their angle). Given that he is a striker and he's been at Real Madrid for 6 years then you'd hardly expect journalists to describe him otherwise let alone the club when announcing the transfer.

Now that's a signing that I find exciting and is much more of an indication of the club's ambition, which is a welcome development. Just Ben Marshall (or Murphy/Ali) and Zamora to go now please, assuming Dunk stays.

One of the top talents in world junior football just signed for the Albion. He is very untried and tested. But he is a top talent. Got to be an exciting day for the club.

I know it was against Crawley but the Hemed/Baldock partnership has the makings of a very good one. Whilst O'Grady isn't going to be scoring many I don't think there's many better at holding the ball up top if we are trying to see out a game. Both the two young lads have been brought in to make at least some impact on the 1st team too. If a striker goes we will need to replace him but if we have limited funds I would much rather see a couple of wingers and a CB come in. Not against signing a striker but see it more as a bonus than a necessity.
