However, I am a grade 8 clarinetist who has played in a couple of serious orchestras in my time and know the instrument inside out.

We all have our own specific areas of interest and expertise in life, and given the wide breadth of subjects discussed on NSC (particularly over the summer) its likely that all that expertise will be useful to someone on here at some point.

So, what subject or subjects do you reckon you're qualified as NSC's oracle for?

Railing against people who go to unethical places like Seaworld in Florida mostly. (Oh and also uptight people with no sense of humour whatsoever)

Please tell more about your gold prospecting expertise. It sounds very interesting.

It's a hobby of mine. I've panned for Gold in Scotland, England, Wales and France.

I've been doing it for a number of years now.

I have gold from about 8 or 9 rivers in England (Devon) and there are many more in that area that have small deposits of gold in them.

I've not been out for a while (life and work gets in the way) but our summer holiday this year happens to be taking us to a part of France that has gold, so I'll hopefully come back with a few grammes of the stuff!
