Blatter is NOT GOING ANYWHERE! He will do a Farage - mark my words. The election will be set for next March, plenty of time to change his mind. Meantime he will ensure FIFA remains the same with his corrupt supporters in status quo. He will ensure 100% the 2018 & 2022 World Cups go ahead. He has done this to head off UEFA's meeting on Saturday to ensure they don't boycott FIFA or the upcoming World Cups. Remember, he has changed his mind before and is a political genius; profoundly adept at keeping power. NO CHANGE HERE FOLKS!

Edit: In addition, in case it's not clear; he is still a ****

Why?

Isn't democracy about everybody having an equal say?

What seems to be breeding the corruption isn't so much the voting, but the way the money is dished out. For instance, Luxembourg gets the same as Germany. All the time the little countries get more from Fifa than the big ones in proportion to their size, then you will get another Blatter. Maybe if, say 50% - 75% was dished out according to Fifa ranking, or number of registered players or some measure linked to size (and funnelled into grass roots football), then the rest can be targeted at worthwhile football projects in poorer countries? Just a suggestion

Let's wait and see what processes he puts in place over the next six months in order to create a bias for his preferred candidate and against those who he sees as his enemies. It also gives him plenty of time to manage all the evidence required by the various agencies. I just hope they find a pile of dirt under the doormat. He's such a slimeball.

Totally bizarre. Right now it looks as though he thought he could beat the FBI. He thought wrong.

Think it could be as simple as this. That it wasthe FBI that went after FIFA is significant, as the US love a good plea bargain. Don't think Blatter can rely on the likes of Jack Warner to keep quiet!

So he's not gone then.

Thread title needs changing. We're all going to have a drink to celebrate, and when we sober up Tw@tter will still be there.

Him punching his arms (nearly) and saying "go go FIFA" in his paid for election acceptance may haunt me to my grave

So Putin saw a very real threat of a boycott of his World Cup and gently enquired whether Blatter liked Polonium with his tea ???

The voting system needs changing where all these small countries that pop up out of nowhere instantly get a vote
It really doesn't. It may have been screwed with over the last god knows how long, making the whole system look ridiculous, but as soon as you start excluding people from voting you start to move back towards essentially picking a president who only needs to keep certain countries sweet.

I agree with this. One nation, one vote is the fairest option.
