And from the Calde article:

Inigo Calderon has expressed his delight at being told he is to be offered a new contract with Brighton & Hove Albion.

The 33-year-old is Albion's longest serving player and since signing back in in January 2010, he has notched up over 200 appearances in the blue-and-white stripes.

He told seagulls.co.uk, "I want to stay here because I've got a good relationship with everyone at the club. I'm really happy; it's been a really good week for me having won the Player of the Season award on Monday.

"I am very proud, because I have had to earn a new contract each year, so it shows that I must be doing something well and I would like to thank the club for offering this to me.

"I always say I'd like to finish my career at Brighton as I've been here for five years and I enjoy living here a lot. I don't have a bad word to say about the city or the fans, and I am so grateful to them because they have always been with me since the very start. I was surprised then and I am still surprised now, because I have never considered myself to be a great player.

"I don't mind where I play as long as I am on the pitch; whether that's at right-back, left-back or in midfield. It gives me a lot more options as I can play in different positions. I know I'm not the first option to start, but I've played 39 games this season with two games left."

Great bloke and I'm pleased for him, but if he starts too many games next season we are going to struggle again

But the point is: he's here

Very pleased for Calderon and Casper :) It's a shame to see CMS go, but he has cost the club 188,000 pounds per goal he scored!!!

Excluding Rea and Harris, this is next season’s squad as it now stands:

GK: Stockdale, Walton and Ankergen. No action required.

RB: Bruno & Calderon. A young, quick right-back needed.

LB: New player needed

CB: Greer & Dunk. At least one, preferably two new players needed, one must be pacey.

Defensive Mids: Crofts, Ince & Holla. Sell Holla. Sign a leader, a wise old head who can run a game and bring on Ince. Crofts may not return to former self.

Other Mids/Creatives: Kayal, Stephens & JFC. Two new creative midfielders needed.

Wingers: Lua Lua & March. At least one new winger required.

Strikers: Baldock (keep) & O’Grady (sell) 2 or 3 new strikers required.

That's 9 or 10 new players

O'Grady to Sheffield United is almost a done deal I'm led to believe.

My source in Yorkshire says the fee will recoup what we paid Barnsley for him plus what we've paid him in wages. O'Gravy will be happy with the signing on fee.

Good luck to him, I thought he was ok. If the deal is close to being done he may as well go there on loan now and take part in their playoffs.
Seriously??

Calde to stay on. Great news and deep joy!

Highly encouraged that the club has had the balls to dispense with CMS and free up his wages for a proper Championship striker. Will be even more impressed if they don't even THINK about signing Leon f*cking Best.

And tremendous news about King Calde. Obviously.

I believe we will go LARGE this summer, we have wages being freed up, some of the Ulloa, Buckley, Bridcutt, money and the mahoosive amount of money we have saved this seaso by not having to pay many win bonuses! Obviously, this was Barbers masterplan for our total domination of the Championship next season
