You know the point he is making. In 2012 we were 3rd in Europe behind Germany and Italy and 7th in the world. So therefore your claim the UK makes nothing is clearly wrong.

It's just a shame that large parts of our manufacturing base are foreign owned, the motor industry for example. Foreign companies have confidence in our workforce, sad that the spivs in the City couldn't stop falling over themselves to flog off our manufacturing industry to foreign firms.

ICI, Scottish & Newcastle, Cadbury, Lucas, Pilkington Glass, British Steel, Mini/Rolls Royce, Bentley, Jaguar/Land Rover, Westland, Sunseeker, Invensys to name but a few

The above list aren't nationalised companies but privately owned so unless you are looking at bringing in Socialism theres not a lot you can do about the buying and selling of shares?

I think you missed the point. I am not a socialist, I was merely commenting that it was a shame that a large chunk of our manufacturing and therefore the profits from it, and potential R&D disappears overseas rather than remain here.

This. And a sizeable chunk of the car industry is assembly as opposed to manufacture. A lot of car parts used in UK assembly are made in Italy apparently.

"A record 1 million people in the UK, including rising numbers of low-paid workers, have used food banks in the past 12 months, challenging claims that the dividends from Britain’s economic recovery are being equally shared."

Cameron's Britain, one of the wealthiest in the world....all in this together eh? We're certainly all down the food bank together.

I believe Labour started this, the cash which could have helped the people that use food banks.

INDIA launched its first Mars-bound spacecraft today at a cost of £45million - while the UK still gives the country more than six times that figure in aid each year.
The UK Government has pledged to stop giving aid to India in 2015 after taxpayers handed £280million to the country in 2012.

Last year India's then finance minister Pranab Mukherjee said UK aid was “a peanut in our total development expenditure”.

Sitting in my front room tonight and saw coming up the street four Labour party candidates/ members.

Will be interesting to see what they have to say to the people that could potentially vote for them, I thought.

Better get my questions ready as i see them walk up the drive I thought.

Hears the letter box tap........

A card drops on the floor ..........
