Too early to call young HT, too early to call. And seats and votes dont always mean the same thing as we both know

Next target: tax avoidance from multi-national companies, linked to reform of the EU. Opposing TTIP wouldn't go amiss either.

Really? 3% lead in mid Feb reduced to 1% according to BBc poll of polls. Lots of bigging up and brash comments

It will be interesting to see what happens this week with the manifesto launches , Tories already under pressure to say where all these funds for their policies coming from.

They could always do what labour does and claim £7bn + from tax avoidance. Shame they didnt get this when they had 12 years in power. Still easier to say it during the election

The Tories seem to be making things up as they go along at the moment. It will be highly amusing if this past week's back-of-the-fag-packet policies make it into print.

I'll give you that the Tories sums seem out but so do Labour's. Apparrently £2bn raised from a mansion tax but they have spent that sum many times over in their announcements - and the policy seems muddled. As for the £7.5bn from tax avoidance fines ? Really ? They've clearly plucked that figure from Ed Ball's backside. Let's chuck in the minimum wage being £8 by the end of the next parliament .... something that would happen whichever party would be in power if they stuck to the current rules ... why big that up when it will happen anyway. What about the meddling in the energy market .... that seems to have become very quiet ... something to do with the prices coming down and the energy companies suggesting they will go up if Labour are elected ? Come on Herr, you have to admit that Labour are as poor at financials as the Tories !

Clegg has intimated that this time around he would prefer to side with Labour. A leftist alliance of Lab + LD + SNP + PC + Greens = 344. Even if the Conservatives win 300 seats they cannot muster enough support from other parties (UKIP , DUP etc) if the LibDems are unwilling to enter a coalition with them.

The last time Clegg refused to join up with Labour as they had fewer seats, even though constitutionally he had the right to. More like the sentiment was that the country had had enough of a shambolic labour party, eg in fighting, lying on middle east, crahsed economy again etc. i suspect he will talk to the conservatives and if he is holding the key will extract real policy gives this time

More like the sentiment was that the country had had enough of a shambolic labour party, eg in fighting, lying on middle east, crahsed economy again etc. i suspect he will talk to the conservatives and if he is holding the key will extract real policy gives this time

In the cold light of day it's clearly obvious that although neither of them are by any means perfect another 5 years of a Tory/ Lib Dem coalition is the only way forward for this country.

I think they have done well to recover from what they inherited and we now have the strongest economic growth of the major economies. It will be preferable to a Lab SNP pact which is likely to ultimately lead to the break up of the nation

I come from a large and hard working Brightonian family.
We can trace family well back to Brghthelmstone and beyond.
I got out of the UK a dozen or so years ago.
I stay in contact with my family though and ALL of them say that this last five years of Tory government has been the hardest of their lives.
Most of them are small business people or are working for somebody else.
They are worse off than they have ever been.
They are praying for a Labour win.

By the way, love the way you imply Labour have in fighting which suggests that you don't think that the Tory's do? Laughable.

Well considering that the Scottish people are given more per head than the Welsh, with the English in last place out of the 4 countries, by the UK pot, then obviously like no prescription fees etc, they may be able to do it without cuts.........especially as i reckon Labour will up their money per person as another sweetener to cover this.

Clegg won't be talking to anyone when he loses his seat.

i know the polling is suggesting otherwise, but his seat is a traditionally Tory seat with recent switch to Liberals, i dont see he'll lose a 15k and +30% majority.
