Exactly. I'm fed up with 'young people' not bothering to vote but blaming everything on people who are NOT 'young people' as if non 'young people' are from a different planet. GENERALLY speaking, not voting, crime, dropping litter, being abusive is more likely to be done by our cherished 'young ones'. Obviously some 'young people' are great. Instead of us non 'young people' blaming ourselves it would be nice to here a 'young person' say those non 'young people' are not that bad, they were young just like me once and some of us, including our mates are a complete pain in the bum.

Do you not think that this is just a bit OTT? We all make generalisations, yourself included, and so long as you accept it is only generally true, then that this is surely OK. As ever most young people are fine, but I do think that it is generally true that young people are less likely to stay together as married couples compared to older generations. Do we demonise them for society's ills - is this not a generalisation which you say you are against?! As to whether our generation has xxxx up, as you delicately put it, this is easily open to debate. Society has its problems, as will always be the case, but growing up in 21st century Western Europe with its freedoms, huge measure of tolerance, and largely material well-being, compared to many years ago, is hardly evidence of "xxxup ness".

Do labour voters onhere really want Ed as leader? I really cant think many do. I am not makimg a point of who you want in power etc, just sitting back, is Ed the best leader for labour?

Another poll shows that 49% of people thought Miliband came across best, as opposed to 34% for Cameron.

Labour has taken a four-point lead in the first major poll since the TV battle between Ed Miliband and David Cameron.

The YouGov survey for the Sunday Times put Labour on 36%, ahead of the Tories on 32%. UKIP sits on 13%, the Liberal Democrats on 8% and "others" on 11%.

The snap polls immediately after Thursday's Battle For Number 10 programme had David Cameron as the winner, but this latest study conducted over two days suggests Mr Miliband is the one enjoying a post-show bounce.

Of those who saw the TV programme shown on Sky News and Channel 4, 49% thought Mr Miliband came across best to Mr Cameron's 34%. Asked which leader was most honest and clear in their answers Mr Miliband stayed on 49%, but Mr Cameron dropped to 28%.

There was muted response from both sides on Saturday night.

Well I like Ed but cannot see him as Prime minister material. Cameron is a poor leader IMO but frankly who would be better than him as Tory leader? Osborne? Come on who else? We are stuffed to be honest, I can't see a suitable candidate from either party who is better than Cameron or Ed and that is saying something. Clegg looks the part but would never be forgiven for forming a coalition with a party which has policies the polar opposite from his own.
While the country bobs along with zero inflation rates, unemployment is at a relatively low rate and opposition parties have uninspiring leaders and policies I am sure the majority of the electorate will not be stirred enough to remove this sterile government.

Not really - Alan Johnson would be much better. But he said he didn't want it. I'd also have preferred David Miliband.

Ed is a Brownite Geek, again, precious little difference, privileged rich boys playing at being pseudo socialist politicians. Equally uninspiring, that goes for the Tories too, but at least they don't pretend to be Socialist

I know someone close to Johnson and yes, apparently he really is happy doing what he is doing. To be fair to him its a pressured cooker environment. It seems to me most PMs visibly age beyond their years whn in office

I was walking past the Socialist Party Office in Clapham at 3pm. An open lecture was due to take place at er 3pm. The Lecturer was there behind a desk with a jug of water and stuff laid out at the rows of desks for attendees who numbered ……………….. nil. Shirly Clapham has more 'socialists' than that!
