This thread is very amusing.

All this fake outrage from a group of fans who were happily singing "let him die" next to a x BHA hero as he lay on the ground with a broken knee.

Football is a physical game things happen, and fans sing silly things...lets all calm down have a wxxk or shag and get on with life.

That chant (I didn't sing it) went on for a minute until the Brighton fans involved realised it wasn't a dive to get a free kick, but a genuine injury.
Jedinak had also elbowed Barnes just over his ear in that game, which the referee chose to ignore.

From what I saw, he just happened to be standing in Jedinaks proximity, not even looking at him. I can't believe you think what he then did was all part of being in a physical sport, even less that you'd actually LIKE to see one of our own players start carrying out similar attacks on opposition footballers.

Only in the same way some posters on here are tarring the whole football club of palace, Players, managers and fans as thugs, because of a silly action of one player caught trying to elbow (and missing BTW) a fellow pro in the heat of a game...only seen by slow motion replay and missed by ref and all other players on the pitch at the time.

But at the same time passing Dunks actions on the pitch, Barns little tripping of the ref and Albion fans surrounding the Palace coach at the play off semi shouting that they hope Murray never plays again , as just fun and japes....its football things are said and things are done which in normal life just would be unacceptable, all clubs/fans are the same. So please don't take this moral high ground...you would love a player to fight for your team and maybe its what you miss this season?

Well it is Elbows Jedinak, I'm surprised it's taken the media this long to pick up on him. It's not like he hasn't got previous for this sort of thing.

BTW, I am in know way condoning Jedinak and he should get a 4 match ban and a fine not only from the league but also from the club.

We've all cheered dirty Brighton players over the years - do you reckon the team in Micky Adam's first stint weren't a bit dirty? Stuff like that is just highlighted these days due to TV cameras, particularly for Sky televised

I largely agree with the rest of your post. Football IS pantomime. Piss-taking, heroes, villains, stupid chants, banter, its all part of the fun. Sometimes it goes too far and crosses into the unacceptable, but on the whole its usually just childish fun and japes. However, ignorantly defending dangerous acts of violent thuggery on the field - that's another ball game, you can't group that in with the usual tomfoolery.

And I've never applauded one of our players off the pitch when he's been stupid enough to be red-carded (that's something that always bewilders me - unless its a blatant miscarriage of justice - when the crowd actually claps a red-carded player back to the dressing room. Whats THAT all about ?).

Why do palace fans constantly tell what we should be concerned with ?

Not always, you may recall Wenger (I didn't see it), actually after years of mocking, coming out in the end to highlight an incident was 'unfortunate', and a number of others calling it how it is.

I do take your point though and in the vast majority managers do defend their player, just staggered that Pardew chose to defend something so blatant. Perhaps would have gained more credibility, if he had 'hoped Jedinak will learn from it' or similar. As the Palace fans have even highlighted it was wrong and they anticipate a ban.
