The finish in the TdU was pretty exciting last night, worth finding some highlights if you can.

See Cav got beaten by this young Colombian again in San Luis as well. It is going to be worth keeping an eye on this kid, Fernando Gaviria.

Hi Josh.

It might be worth contact @_PaulHayward via twitter. I dropped him a tweet last night about this and he was unaware. As Chief Sports Writer at at the Telegraph, and Brighton resident, you never know, he may be interested in a story.

The explosion of cycling and the oldest track in Britain falls into disrepair - there is a story there.

Good idea hopefully he will be down there tomorrow!

and

Have any of you ever wanted to be on TV?

Friday 23rd January (tomorrow) at 11-12 is your big day!

The BBC want to interview cyclists that use the track please pass this on and get down the track. Let us Rupert Rivett know on 01273 695107 or just turn up!

Ideally with your bikes but if not get down and show support!

Good stuff.

My Planet X stuff arrived this morning, an impressive next working day.
I've not used the light in anger yet, so that review is pending.

The new shades.
Well the case alone is probably worth a tenner.
The shades are good enough, certainly better value than the £10 I bought them for, but not worth the RRP of £59.99

So as a product, out of 5 I will give them 2.5 geeks.
Value for money @ £10, I will give them 4.5 geeks.

I've watched highlights of every TDU stage on Steephill so far. Good racing so far. The King is dead long live the king eh?

Haven't caught up with any of the San Luis really. Did you know that they stream that race live over youtube? I did watch a tiny bit of stage one that way before having to do something else, and I never saw the finish of the stage.

Edit: Here we go, stage 4 live coverage as I type http://www.steephill.tv/players/you...board=tour-de-san-luis&id=bmL5rwfbpVk&yr=2015

Thanks, seems to be showing last years race right now. Glad someone else has been watching, was starting to think that I was talking to myself...

Loved last nights TDU finish in particular. I didn't see that coming at all. I suppose if it was team tactics then it's as good as an old one two job as you're likely to see. Superb stuff!

I can't work out what's going on with this San Luis live coverage. Perhaps they've lost pics as it's a summit finish today and that's why they're showing re runs. All I can see now is endless graphics of today's stage map :(

Yep, me too, given up now. Thought the commentators just completely forgot to look down the road, the bunch was never that far behind the lead group. It is going to make the Old Wilunga Hill tactics interesting on Saturday though, surely Evans can't attack his team mate just because it is his last race.

So concentrated on the Porte/Evans battle I suppose and what with Porte still having G there too and the added interest of Pozzo, Dumolin and Gesckhe (spellings?) it was an exciting group and understandable to just miss what was going on from behind. I even had to rewind it myself once the stage had finished as I just didn't see the attack coming as it seemed to come out of nowhere  You're right though, on rewind and seeing the over head shot you could see that in fact it wasn't a massive gap to get across.

Bonus seconds on each stage too remember so that makes Old Wilunga Hill and team tatics even more interesting. Should be another good finish to what is turning out to be a great season opener again. Always added interest when you don't quite know what form everyone's bringing so early in the season.

Apparently Dennis was meant to attack from a K or 2 out for Evans to bridge but he was out of position. Once he got up the front to attack no one could live with him!

Haha, quality! Wonder how well that all went down on the team bus? Evans chased very hard at the end with Phil getting all excited about Cadel being determined to make it a BMC first and second place  They need to get cameras in that BMC team car on Saturday and mic them up like Greenedge sometimes do - going to be very interesting indeed to see what happens, especially with it being Evans' last (proper) race like P says.

In all honesty I'd love to see Evans just go for it all himself, regardless of what team tactics might be now, and go out in style breathless and absolutely spent snatching victory and the Ochre jersey on Old Wilunga Hill. It would be a fitting end to a great career.

I've given up the Evans bashing now he's retiring!

They obviously want him to win but I can't see BMC risking it by making Dennis scupper his own chances.

Tour de San Luis coverage now showing some bored looking podium girls standing around having a chat. This is riveting stuff.

Hang in there, I'm sure we'll see something soon.

Apparently this is the latest situation - -11Km to go, break 2 min.

Edit: And we're into live action at last! :)

In case any of you fancy wearing your (ahem) 2nd favourite football team's kit in lycra, it's now going half price. I've bought some myself and it's pretty good quality.

Much better than the horrible effort produced by the Albion last (?) season.

Still unwearable though. You CANNOT wear football branded kit whilst cycling. Unless you are the sort that wears football kit all of the time.

Cycling isn't football. And therein lies it's beauty.

Hmmm, I take your point entirely, but........

I'm never without my NSC cap under my helmet, all year round, and last night I went into the club shop and bought some winter gloves for the bike. Wore them today actually, but I'm a bit worried that from a distance the prominent club badge could have me mistaken for a Chelski fan

As Pogue Mahone says that's considerably better than the eye sore we had to endure, I wonder if any were sold.
My bet is none, meaning if we approached the club with either a proper bespoke or Nike engineered kit they'd laugh us out of the building:-
'we tried cycling and it just doesn't sell, it's football, golf or nothing'.

I wonder how many times we could scream 'it didn't sell cos it was shitehouse', before security arrives.

I like looking like a flying deck chair.

Do Nike do any cycling gear at all?

They do! http://www.wiggle.co.uk/nike-hypercool-comp-shortsleeve-top-20-fa14/

So they could just slap some Albion stuff on this. A giant seagull dropping?
