This goes back to my point about relativity and subjectivity. For 99.9% of Muslims they see what Daash are doing and are horrified, both Sunni and Shia, as I've said in another post (apologises) every Muslim I have spoken to has said these are not Muslims, but more acceptable is that they are not at all representative of the peaceful faith they practice.

The sooner people realise you can twist anything and manipulate your behaviour because of a certain belief system the better. Islam for 99.9% is a religion of peace, just like 99.9% of Christians and Derby fans, we should be better than 'tarring all with the same brush'.

Just as a postscript, the Derby chairman came out and said the bloke shouldnt be considered a Derby fan.

We should be, Sadly we are not. I think the world would be a better place if we generalised less and took people as we find them without lumping them together to justify our prejudices.

I loved the twitter reaction to the Sydney thing, a real step forward for our planet I reckon #I'llridewithyou. We are threated by extremists and should do what we can make sure that those in-between (shades of grey) are protected from it.

I didn't realise this, So Jesus dying kind of nullified the old testament?

In that case Christians should be kind of groovy hippies into unity and loving and looking after everyone.

That about sums it up, and to be fair some are. They kind of end up being a bit ineffectual against morons with guns... or shape-shifters with sharp teeth:

Erm, I think we're all beginning to lose sight of the real issue here, which is: what are we going to call ourselves? And I think it comes down to a choice between "The League Against Salivating Monsters," or - and this is my personal preference - "The Committee for the Liberation and Integration of Terrifying Organisms and their Rehabilitation Into Society." Erm, one drawback with that - the abbreviation is C.L.I.T.O.R.I.S.

I am not trying to be pedantic -honestly - but the figure of 99.9% might apply if you take the muslim population as a whole in the world, though I doubt it, but I am not at all certain that 0.1% is true in the UK. I suspect that the number of, shall we say, non-moderate muslims in the UK is higher than this. That is not to say, as I am sure you would agree, that they should all be tarred with the same brush, or that the "nutters" are in a majority.

As bad as Islam? What's so vile about it?

I'll admit that it doesn't go around killing people with knives etc any more but it's preaching of no condoms has killed many across the world. We could also throw in covering up kiddy fiddling priests.

The figures I showed earlier backed up what I said, Daash has at a median estimate 100,000 fighters, 600 of these are confirmed to be from the UK - of course there many be more, but this is the figure widely reported.
600 UK fighters out of 2,786,635 UK Muslims (2011 census figure) is 0.02% - of course they could have sympathy from more, let's say at tops 10X that it still only equates to 0.2% of all UK Muslims.

What is going on in these blokes heads to think " My God believes a group of teenagers and a magician entertaining people must be murdered " ? It is truly fcked up

Pol Pot took Cambodia back to "Year Zero" , these blokes have the same idea quite literally.

Brighton / Hove actually
Religions are an insult to humanity because they create 'illusions, falsehood and bloodshed'.

This doesn't strictly apply to religion. Religion just makes wars more complex.

A war about politics, land grabbing or reclaiming is much easier to comprehend, but if you throw religion into the mix it really becomes a mine field.

Unfortunately when Bush said that "God told him to end the tyranny in Iraq" it really didn’t help us.

I,m sorry to disappoint you but these savages are most definitely Muslims......and there are tens of thousands of them who think exactly as they do.

In turn, I am sorry to disappoint you, but you are wrong.

I have been at a meeting this morning where a devout muslim for whom I have a great deal of respect shared in - in fact led - the condemnation of the things that ISIS and others do, and used those exact words: "These people are not Muslims."

I get what you're saying but lets narrow down the IRA to Catholicism ( which is an equally vile religion ).

Just being pedantic, but Catholicism is not a religion. It is a denomination of the Christian Religion.

So Catholics are from the same religion as such fanatical hard-liners as the Quakers and the Salvation Army
