SHOREHAM BY SEA
God you sound OLD.
It's not for you and you moved away. Congratulations, you had an alternative seat to go to in the east upper. I'm sure the quiet gave you time to reflect how despicable some fans are who refuse to remain silent during a football match.
Can't see what you hope to gain by criticising other fans. Sometimes best to keep quiet, just not a football match.

Oi ...some of us shout up there to ya know

Amazing how 'spouting' an opinion like mine makes one person question whether I know the words to Sussex by the Sea, and another tell me they've been going since the 70s.

JCL that I am (I didn't go to my first game until February 1973) I think I've had enough time to learn the words.

I've also had enough time to recognise those fans who want to help, and those fans who just might have given up helping and instead rely upon criticising others in order to justify their actions.

Which one are you?

As someone who has sat with, joined in with, and observed from varying distances, I will pass comment on the Police Box Crew today.

From the WSU they were the most consistently heard fans in the ground, they seemed to refuse to join in any song from the central North Stand, they were of no benefit to the overall atmosphere as their constant drone dissuaded others from starting more readily known songs.

And there is the crux. Please do keep singing, but sing songs that EVERYBODY else knows, and join in with others.

Well said

It must be nice to be so bloody perfect and so entirely unable to encourage others to try their hardest.

It's a pity that until we can get the club to change a few things there will be segregation between those who want to sing their hardest. Until then, we (and I include myself as a recent resident under the Police box) will continue to have a good time and do our best. Until you decide to add a positive contribution to the efforts that others can make, I will remain disappointed that an air of superiority for your NOT singing is all that you can muster.

Give it a try, join in, make an effort, make a difference... do SOMETHING, but just having a whinge isn't productive, doesn't help and, maybe most importantly of all, absolutely will not stop us.

It's a pity you feel so negative towards a number of fans who are at least trying to help the atmosphere.
maybe he's telling the truth and you can't hack it ............just saying like:rolleyes:

DR

I personally think fans shouldn't be allowed their own individual opinions we should all have one shared thought and as for singing it should be band! I have paid for a ticket and want to watch it in the peice and quite as I eat my splendid pie amd sip bovril football is just a game and we need to be nice and never show over exaggerated emotion, these loud mouthe hoooligans who shout things like "lino, he was off side!" Cleqrly dont appreciate what a difficult job it is.
So in summary football should be even more sterile thqn it has become, being a customer at football should be just like being a customer at the ballet but with more sponsors and things to buy

Love your Avata but your spelling is atrocious:)

Is this the same Police Box Crew that go to away matches, create a lot of noise, the rest join in and 1000 fans make more noise than the whole of the Amex put together.
Looking forward to Fulham and Charlton where the noise, the songs and the support is not questioned.

The Police box crew annoyed me against Millwall with their unrelenting love of Sami and aggressively challenging anyone who disagreed with them. However, I saw Judge and the other guy kissed and made up at half time today.

With regards to today, they do help build an atmosphere but need to try and sing with others in the ground too. The 2nd half was amazing in the NS until the stewards told everyone to sit down. Thought the club wanted a better atmosphere?

Yes it is but for some reason their passion for BHA is unappreciated!

Yep I've not questioned that either.
Been to plenty away matches in the last forty years.

Seems a lot of people want us to be noisy, but can't be bothered to start their own chants or join in with others and then wonder why the atmosphere isn't as good as they hoped or expected it to be at the Amex. Is it any surprise when fans turn on a small group of fans who are actually trying and making the effort but get singled out and ridiculed for at least having the guts to bother that others just don't try themselves?.

Too many fans complaining about fellow fans who are trying to create some atmosphere, but i bet the complainers will still somehow find a way to blame the club for a poor atmosphere at the ground on a matchday, saying that the club are trying to stop anyone from singing or whatever. Maybe the complainers would only be happy if the atmosphere was piped in and only included chants that they had pre-approved.
