I was comparing those that go to home games but live a distance away.

No matter. Still can't understand those that "need" to get away to save a few minutes.

Same here. Everyone seems to be in a rush these days. Slow down.

I need to leave early to save a few minutes .. You stay until the end because you're circumstances are such that you can making you luckier than me. It would seem you can't understand why anybody else would be different so I'm happy to swap lives with you for a game and this may aid your understanding.

I have never understood why anybody else cares, including before I had to become an early leaver.

And as I said previously lucky you .. The lack of understanding and compassion similarly displayed by many others stops me being able to do the same

sorry but I've not shown a lack of compassion have I FFS or even understanding come to that. All I have stated is those that have to go to save a few minutes not those that have to go due to other circumstances.

Have you questioned everyone who leaves to work out who are leaving for what you consider legitimate reasons? The man you mention who you and your friends turned into a running competition (very compassionate), for instance, did you ask him why he left early. You mention he was an older gentleman, have you asked him about his mobility capabilities? Does he struggle getting to the park and ride because of people who stay til the end of the game then rush and jostle through people without consideration to get to the first bus so they can come on here and brag about how easy it is to leave at the final whistle?

No but as he was sitting mid way up WSU so mobility probably did really come in to it. Plus anyway thanks to him I won £30 so happy days my friend happy days.

Your reply came across that way .. I'm happy to accept it may not have been intended as such.

The point is though, how do you know which is which? Even those that need to leave a few minutes early may have a very good reason to do so and how does anybody else judge that unless their circumstances are exactly the same? People who see me leaving early wouldn't always know why and nobody has ever asked me so how would they expect to understand the reasons? You may well have talked to people who leave early and they don't have a reason that you can understand or you might not, who knows. But if I had simply said that I leave early without explanation does that make it ok for other people to pass judgement on how I chose to watch the game? why should I have to justify myself for it to be ok in the eyes of anybody else? Does this mean when I leave from the east stand I should hold up a sign big enough for everyone in the west to see to state its ok I have a good reason just so they can distinguish who's leaving and why? And who decides what is a good reason? Is somebody who stays to the end but acts like an absolute ******** a better supporter than somebody who leaves 5 minutes early because they don't want to have to deal with that? If you only have to travel 10 minutes to the ground and you leave last because its easy to get home does that make you better than somebody who does a 6 hour round trip and gets there 2 hours before kick off but leaves 3 minutes before the whistle?

Maybe what we should do is start some kind of points system that dictates what makes a good supporter and then everybody would know where they stand (said with tongue firmly planted in cheek)

It wasn't intended as such. It is no concern of mine why people leave early I was only commenting on those that it appears so important to save a few minutes, that is all.

Doesn't bother me, honest guv.

Yep but to anyone else based on appearances alone I'd be one of them. You see where I'm coming from?

Now in an ideal fuzzy pink world what will happen next game is everyone will learn from the error of their ways and you'll get to know the gent near you so you can find out whether he leaves because he struggles or because he doesn't like the scrum at the end or for whatever reason. Then you can possibly help him while educating people around you to stop pushing and just wait their turn and then he might get to be able to enjoy the end of the games too.

Or he might just be an idiot who leaves early without reason :)

Psssst guv'NESS if you don't mind ☝️

Living in Norfolk taking 3 kids to most Saturday games I need to catch the 5.19 from Brighton to make my connection in London. If I miss that train it's an hours wait at kings cross. If the 5.19 train was on platform 7 I can get off the falmer train and hop across onto the Victoria train then there would not be an issue but it's usually on platform 6 so We have to run round to the concourse and back in which is difficult with 3 kids and only a 4 minute gap. I tend to leave dead on 90 min to catch the 4.53 or wait and get the 5.06 which is not gaurenteed staying to the final whistle . It would help if the game actually started on time. A Brighton home game is gaurenteed to be one of the last results to come through.

Well not a great performance today, however I got to see another goal this season that I would have missed if I had joined the 85 minute leavers like I did last year.

Walking up the hill from Lewes station I heard somebody who got off the same train as me telling this chap who asked what the score was today that we lost 2-0

I missed Greers goal and don't give a shit. The preceding 86 minutes was enough for me.

Another late goal today, as the ground was emptying it was sheer joy to see Calderon slot the ball home.great feeling as it did not look like we were going to get back in the game.

I was disgusted to see the exodus begin on 84 minutes today. Need a couple of sniper nests outside to pick off these :tosser:

It began sooner than that where I was in ESL. I had a superb front row seat. Marvellous it was. The rest of those in the rows behind didn't agree and a lot of them left around '60 mins...
