I hope we can keep him in some capacity though. Local lad, responsible for scouting some of the top talent in the UK and widely regarded in the game for his youth work. Did wonders at Southampton & Man City.

Scapegoat for Blooms lack of investment in the playing side ?

What top talent exactly is he famed for finding?

i have to say that i tend to agree. the poor recruitment must surely be TBs responsibility. DB can only work with the budget he is given and if TB/PB tell him that he can only have £2m of the £10m plus in sales income, he clearly has to shop at Aldi rather than Waitrose.

At the same time paying out the highest wages in the clubs history. Yer right.

It has been more like shopping at charity shops.

You really believe COG, Holla, Colunga, Stockdale are on more than Ulloa, Orlandi, Barnes & Kusczak were ? Stop believing everything the club tell you

Is his record that much worse than we had when the managers were responsible for player recruitment? Some of our managers over the last 20+ years brought/bought in some real duffers.

Given Ulloa cost £2m and this time we bought Baldock for that figure, I think questions will be asked

Er no. Someone who wasnt Bloom scouted a centre forward from Barnsley and spent £500,000 plus wages on him. He turned up and was well, in the Richard Tiltman mould. I know we all get things wrong but ..

i dont disagree. baldock was overpriced like all british players. i am not absolving DB of all the responsibility but its a lot harder to find quality players when you are bargain basement shopping.

however i would rather have a manager who had the majority input into recruitment. but even he will still need a budget.

The fact we PAID money for O'Grady put him on a DECENT contract and a few months later is out on loan at Sheffield United with no doubt us paying some of his wages is reason enough for BERK to go

I know this board is keen to see the back of the Burker, but isn't anyone stopping and thinking:-

'why would a sponsor be told the most sensitive information possible to know?'

If it's true then it suggests TB realises the major stumbling block to attracting top quality candidates has to go.
