The article is a mess. Its a load of self-indulgent, melodramatic claptrap that jumps all over the shop, and has absolutely no point to it whatsoever. As much anguish as it caused us as fans, nobodies lives were "turned upside down" by the events going off at the club in the mid-90's, lets keep things in perspective. As an experienced and respected funeral director who is by all accounts damn good at what he does, I'm sure Harty is well accustomed to encountering people on a daily basis who's lives really HAVE been turned upside down.

The club has moved on from the 90's, but some people still seem to be stuck there and feeling they're still somehow owed something from what they did back then.

Am I allowed to say DIRECTLY to "harty" that I find his behaviour both tiresome and borderline offensive. He seems to imply that anyone with a view opposing his own (ie. the majority from what I can work out. - but then I am not looking with his eyes) is somehow toeing a party line whether it is drawn by Barber on behalf of the club or Bozza and his heavies. It is a view that is frankly laughable. This further article represents the inevitable step too far by someone who, whether independently or by encouragement of his own group of acolytes, has begun to believe his own press as the voice of the common man/the fan/ the supporter (but clearly not the customer). It has become something personal - casting about for targets and finding them in those who recognise the reality that the world has moved on from the seventies and eighties.
Sad to see and it will almost inevitably end badly.

In all fairness his personal and professional life went through the mill as he fought to save the club. Despite his current eccentricities don't lose sight of that. He put his balls on the line in a way that few would be prepared to do. That said, what's going on now is bizarre and unnecessary. Seems the beef with current regime goes back to the Poyet departure and its fallout. Who was organiser of Charlie Oatways testimonial? There was a view that Charlie was hung out to dry on the back of the Poyet regime falling apart and now is the chosen time to have a pop back at the club for this.
