There is no way there are going toto remove the roundabout, what with the already road works in two place further along the seafront the affected already costly tailbacks that occurred the road could not cope with another road works, in addition the resources of the council for current road works are already considerably stretched.
Whilst i appreciate as a sport its is important to you, in the bigger scheme of things its not for most people and the costs for doing it, not just the actual financial cost but the knock for commuters and business users would be just too great.
Along with this it is simply not possible to be able to do it in less than 7 days.

Oops, I see what you mean now. I make it sound like we ducked and so she copped it as a result as she was right behind us, which wasn't the case. We was right near the front and she was up near the back. I also had two ten yr olds with me under clear instructions to keep their eyes wide open and duck as soon as anything looked like coming our way. I didn't fancy the explanations when I got home had I suggested anything different.

We are talking about the same roundabout.
The one being removed is the crappy 10ft wide lump of concrete at the palace Pier.
The organisers have said as part of the bidding process the council would remove it, in order to get the race.
If I thought you'd listen I'd tell you exactly where the fella said it on this weeks thecyclingpodcast.
I'd imagine they will scrape it off the road Sunday morning.
Bollard round it for the day.
Then dump something down at a point afterwards, maybe even that evening.
It's possible you wouldn't even notice.

Would be very interested in seeing where it was proposed.For it to be removed it would need for the roundabout to be closed because of H&S issues, causing traffic chaos for the duration and several grab lorries to remove the contents of it then excavated t allow a bed of sub foundation and then re tarmacked.
Maybe it is possible ? but it would be a very expensive and intrusive thing to do just to allow a "potential" exciting end to a sporting event.
Surely if sprint finish was a possibility to would make more sense to move the finish line further along Maderia drive towards Concorde2 to accommodate this rather than the expense and upheaval of removing a roundabout and them putting it back again ?

Are they better than Burgys in South Rd, my usual choice in HH but I think Burgess Hill is better served with cafes etc for breakfast.

That's a bit tenuous, bearing in mind the roundabout was there at 8:30 this morning, and needs to be gone by 3:30 next Saturday. (seven days later)

But still think a more easier option is to move the finish line further along. why does the race have to finish where it does, is it critical.

Just reading this route again and they are coming from the other way (from the east) so the race would be over before they reach the roundabout, maybe the route has change since that podcast?

Like I said not believing the facts, when presented with them, is the NSC way.
As the fella said, the live outside broadcast stuff needs half a football pitch of space, so I guess moving the finish eats into their space.
