I'm no great photographer and it's not the most flattering one of my Rosie, but it does make me laugh everytime I look at it. Only editing done was to darken the background to near black and add a bit of saturation to the brown colour

Here's a landscape I took last week with my little compact at Sheffield park. Didn't have the slr with me so fairly pleased with results.

Excellent :D but can he touch the end of his nose with his tongue, that's the big question ;)

If we stitched those pictures together, I would swear they were about to kiss :p

rosie1.gifI thought this would make a nice black and white image. I sharpened it up a little and bought some of Rosie's back, cheek and ear into it by shadow and highlight. I think it comes out quite nice. :)

Love it Clippedgull, she does look great in black and white as well. Do you mind if I save the photo and send it to the other half, he'd love it?

i am looking to upgrade my Bridge camera (nikon p510) to the Nikon D3200. I have the choice to get it from jessops or amazon both with next day delivery and both the same price but the jessops one comes with a 20gb sd card.
who would be better to purchase from?

Puffin taken from recent visit to Iceland.

Have started using photoshop elements to process pictures but not really sure what I am doing! I know HOW to do lots of stuff but not really sure WHAT Ishould be doing. Any tips? What sort of processing should I be doing on the attached picture?

I like this. I'm looking at starting to take bird photos. Would an 80 - 400mm lens be the one I should consider buying? What lens did you use for this photo and what camera settings? Was this taken with manual or auto-focus?
Thanks.

Do you use Canon or Nikon? (or other). I use Canon f5.6 400mm prime lens on a 7D. Probably the best lens for Birds on Flight. My son uses 100-400mm zoom but it is not quite as sharp at 400mm and very slightly slower at focusing (although more flexible).

I used Auto Focus (extended centre point) and f7.1 1/2000.

More of my bird pics here if interested:

I use a Nikon D7100 which I'm slowly getting the hang of. The lens is a Nikon 18-115mm which doesn't get anywhere near enough for flying birds even on maximum zoom.
Love your photos on the link.
