Not too bothered either way. Showed well in a couple of games, AWOL in more. Seemed a little lightweight, but looked as though potential WAS there

My point was more that being an ex-Man Utd player is now criteria for not signing a player

Another vote for Eagles over Lingard.

But more importantly, where's the substance in this 'rumour'?

Nowhere.

The only mention of it is on twitter via the account 'Transfer Central' - probably a 16 year old bored on his summer holidays already. Same tweet links us with Tyrone Meers, a center half who played 3 times last season, and just 27 times since 2011.

Personally think he would be a class signing for us, but maybe that's just me.... I also thought Lingard was ok. Maybe I'm a closet Man utd fan....???

Away away away
Can't see too many people having his name on their shirt.

It would be so ironic though. My friend and I, who's on here, went to my local in South London after we beat palace 0-1 away a few years ago. We were in colours. We hadn't made the connection between the name of the pub and their affiliation. The landlord of said Eagle public house, looked at us and just said "oh god, you're not are you".

He was good two seasons ago and even better the season before that. However, I would not mind betting he was £30K a week. cf: I think Cork (Southampton) is only of n about £15K a week.

Guesses on wages really, but experienced older Premier League players get a fair whack of dosh. Unfair sometimes. Youngsters don't get nearly as much. In wonder how much Will Buckley will get at Sunderland? (40% deduction if they get relegated.)

God I hope we sign him, Bolton rejects are just what we need to appease the Bedwetters

A very frustrating player is Chris Eagles. All the skill, the lovely control and touches he never seemed to beat the first man with a cross.

The player directly behind him on whichever flank or even in the middle (if he played there) would have his work cut out.

He's a luxury that Burnley couldn't afford (and I don't mean in monetary terms) and he's a luxury that Bolton can't afford (again I don't mean money wise).

Having said that he was on £30,000 a week plus at Bolton.

Great, sounds just what we need.

He has asthma as well.

Not that you should discriminate against him for that.

A reet nice lad though and a good footballer, he's just not one that you want in a Championship no holds barred fight
