Haha, I think the shirt looks crap, but wouldn't ever take the time to complain to the club about it. I just won't buy it (wouldn't have bought if I liked it either, so no loss to them anyway).

I have met with PB on a few occasions and I can tell you he is no bullsh***er at all.

He is a true football man, knows his stuff and works bloody hard. TB has hired 'the business' by appointing him. He will tell you to your face when what you say is wrong and he will explain why, he definitely listens to every bit of praise or criticism and does everything that TB expects.

We really should be thankful that he is at our club, even more so when you think back to who he replaced!

OBN awarded, with honours. Dammit, where's that smiley?

Tragic. It's a football shirt ffs, Barber does not need to be wasting his time with shit like this.

Plus it was known the sponsor was iron on weeks ago, plenty of time to cancel orders rather than whinging like a little bitch.

Can't see what the fuss is all about. My son (7 and three quarters) will love it because it's what his heroes (and team mates at under 8s) will wear. I like being able to see the numbers on the back and anyone who takes an interest in tactics, opinion, football writing etc surely will as well. Beyond that it's an overpriced piece of man made fibre that your small child or desire to be a super fan may or may not guilt trip you in to buying.

No one has ever walked down the street, seen a fat bloke in a replica walking the other way, stopped him and said "hey - NICE FOOTBALL SHIRT".

Not when sales are up 400%

Not sure this stands up unless the view was that they will not buy the crap!

I have bought it, it is as I expect from Nike overpriced rubbish, I don't like the shirt and will probably continue to wear last seasons, still bought one.

thank you for your email.

I’m sorry that you do not like the new shirt.

Nike apply a heat pressed sponsor logo to all of its shirts, including those designed for manchester united, manchester city, juventus, and barcelona. Nike do not produce a sublimated printing option (and indeed last year’s shirt which was produced using this process also received complaints because the stripes were broken – in this business of football shirt design, clubs and manufacturers will never win!).

The sponsor logo must meet american express’ owns brand guidelines – and our shirt design means that american express’ logo must sit within a white box as the lettering itself can only be applied to a plain background. The size of the white box is determined by the football league and, as is the case with all shirt sponsors, american express require the maximum space to be used. I can assure you that american express are not ashamed of something that meets their own guidelines.

Finally, with orders for the new shirt already 400% up on the previous best ever selling albion shirt, i don’t think the club or nike should be ashamed of anything! Shirt design will always be entirely subjective and different views, including yours, will be expressed and are of course valid and welcome, the vast majority of supporters do not share your particular opinion
fine if you like wearing a football shirt
regards
DR

I can't believe someone emailed the CEO just because they didn't like the design of the shirt!!!
I imagine they were expecting the CEO to agree with them.

True, fair point. But I can't believe the amount of emails I got from the CEO and his marketing arm flogging the new shirt and hyping it up to be an "event" of some kind. All very silly.

Just for the record I e mailed the club shop with regards to the club shirt, Paul Barber had the decency to send me an e-mail response following my comments and questions.

Just thought I would share his reply as he states some interesting points that I wasn't aware of and subsequently shared.

Maybe in hindsight I shouldn't have shared this information... Apologies.
