With the influx of Craft beer places and existing fine pubs I was looking at a pub crawl to take in a selection of the best. What are everyone's thoughts on the following route:-

1. The Evening Star
2. The Albert
3. Brewdog (If this replaces the Blind Tiger)
4. The North Laine
5. The Basketmakers
6. The Hobgoblin
7. The Hare & Hound
8. The Cow
9. The Craft
10. Brighton Beer Dispensary

Any thoughts? Could this be improved?

Looks a cracking day - the first "NSC official middle aged man's craft beer thread" pub crawl?

They do have some bottled Icelandic lagers and heavily tattooed bar staff so it's in.... You should try The Hare and Hounds by the fire station, they have a 6 Stone Asian barmaid, of which, 1 Stone is jewelery and tattoos.

Bottled Icelandic lager. Is that the one where the water has been filtered through the glaziers and tundra's. I kid you not that is what the lad in the Goose told me.

Could be good fun. Mr Convert, you up for organising this?

Why not? We'll keep it in this thread though shall we? We don't want the infidels gatecrashing.

Who's provisionally in?

Herr T, Questions, Big Nuts and Me so far.

Once everyone's had the chance to respond we'll consider dates. Shall we try and get it in before the football kicks off? A nice Saturday afternoon would suit me but I'm open to suggestions....

For once a Saturday tea time game would be most welcome to complete the 10/12 pubs. If it were a 3pm kick off we would have to drink like lords to fit it all in before kick off.

Or after a 3pm kick off, get the park & ride to the race hill and gradually work our way down Southover or get a train to Brighton Station.

An early 12:45 kick off would give us more time for a leisurely crawl after, maybe taking in a Trolls at the Hobgoblin at some stage.

I like the idea of maybe an after match stroll. I don't think I could make a Saturday before then........ What with all the beer festivals coming up and my borderline alcoholism . I reckon Pickles and Vegster will fancy it when they pick up on this thread.

I doubt I will be over in the Brighton for a good few months either. I'd be up for it though if it was autumn time. My preference would be non-football Saturday as well.

Not craft beer I know but the ice cold Rothaus Pils was flowing rather nicely on a warm and humid night in Berlin. Perfect pilsner.

I had a taste of the Bristol Brewery double IPA (8.5%) yesterday, now I wasn't particuarly fond of the last keg they had on in the Star (far too bitter) but this new batch appears to be balanced perfectly.

I am planning on getting stuck into some more this evening.

Any more for our proposed pub crawl?

On the subject of dates I appreciate this is some time out but November will work best for me...got a pesky marathon to train for.
