I personally don't rate Crofts that highly, yes he works hard and did well to support the front men earlier this season to get his goals but he's not the answer in midfield imo.

Take away his goals and I found him to be pretty anonymous in most games. Great to have in the squad though.

My opinion of course and will probably get flamed for it.

Ok Bladders old chap, prepare for your first flaming ...

You admit in your first paragraph that Crofts works hard, does well to support the front men, and weighs in with his share of goals, and l agree with you. But surely isn't that exactly what a midfield player is supposed to do?

It's left me wondering what more exactly you expect of him!

Should think he'd welcome the chance to live down south after playing at that Elevation for so long.

Don't you think our midfield ranks are covered for the time being? Surely this week we should be getting a goalkeeper...

Who says we are not looking at getting a goalkeeper this week? We don't have to go after one player at a time you know..

That's not what i said...

Has there been some sort of FA rule change that I'm not aware of then, meaning we can only approach one player per week?

Where did i state that we are only signing one player at a time? I asked a question as to whether our midfield was covered and offered my opinion on what i think is a more urgent target for this week

We have lost lopez, Orlandi and Andrews in there so we do need another 1 in there at least.
I would be happier though if our next signing was a keeper and centre half.

We will get there though, the order cannot be decided sadly.

There is a "rumour" we are after Clayton and Baldock - neither of which may be true.

Sami says we are after a goalkeeper and centre back.

Which of these are the most likely to be true?

I am aware of utility players, but I think that might be a trifle ambitious.

Whilst it is all good to be linked with such a player, I'd be more happy to hear news of a goalkeeper, a central defender, a left back, and a striker ( 2 strikers if Leo is sadly sold ).

This is what I learned last season moaning about landing Andrews when we needed a left back, The left back duly turned up and pretty useful he was too....
