It really is all quiet on the transfer front, even on the rumours front

Perhaps we need some new emoticons that do the opposite of these two: :drama:

I'd like to think we are aiming for better than a 24 year old with so few league appearances and a history of knee trouble.
Yes, we have old ( Greer) and we have young (Dunk).... we need high level now to make the link between the two.

A bit depressing really, hoping for some good news out of the blue.

With you on that. Currently 19 in the first team squad including both goalkeepers (Walton and Ankers). With 2 injured we are very short on numbers going into the friendlies. No doubt work is going on behind the scenes but it would be nice to be able to spend time bedding in the team rather than hoping the signings hit the ground running. And no rumours or speculation either which normally always precedes a signing on NSC.

Seems like a good time to announce a couple of signings.

Surely the GK and CD signings are nearly there ???

Certainly not many rumours about on twitter, saw a couple yesterday that we're looking at Bacary Sako at Wolves and a Helsinki winger, also if we do sell Ulloa then we'll go in for Rhodes!

Usual BS really!

In 2012 we signed 8-9 first team players in mid season, 4 on the last day of August. All fairly decent too. (Bruno, Bridge, Kus, Crofts, Dobbie, Lopez, Orlandi, Hammond) and we re-signed Vicente.
The idea that we're in an unusual position or that we're late to the party is not quite there. Most Champ clubs are in this position...Hyppia will almost certainly make a few signings in advance of the Spain trip...

I can't remember there being a promise of any signings? It was more hopeful than anything but with no real expectation.
Hopes and expectations, two words many miles from delivery, fingers crossed for something at least.

Complacent.

At the end of my tether
The World Cup is bound to impact on it- not so much at our level but if high value transfers are delayed then lower ones will be too.

Also, any decent player will hold on until the last minute hoping for a better deal. It will come all together, keep the faith!
