Saw Neutral Milk Hotel and The War on Drugs on Saturday.

TWOD were excellent and worth the price of admission alone, but then to be followed by NMH... Wow. Just wow.

I've been to around 2,000 gigs and seen around 5,000 bands in my time, and I'd put that NMH show in my top 5. They clearly enjoyed themselves, which made it all the better - and great to see the weirdly beardy Scott Spillane sing his heart out enthusiastically throughout, even though he's not a backing singer and had no mike in front of him.

Was hoping for a Swans/Melt banana play off but not expecting it this weeks show! Got a few days off work now so will be listening to the show whilst decorating and a two hour special will certainly ease the pain.

I saw The Tiger Lillies in The Spiegel Tent saturday night, they were recommended by a friend and I'm glad I went. They are a strange mix of macabre, vaudeville, comedy and the obscene and poignant music. " Lover " for instance is an amazingly powerful yet simple song. I'd definitely go again.

We saw them at The Dome during the festival a year or two back: mightily impressive -- they weave an intriguing narrative. I didn't realise that they were playing again this year.

The two hour shows are definitely the way forward. Enjoyed Girl Band and that particular section. Also good to hear the Phantom Band song again and hope it is an indicator as to the quality of the new album. All we need is a tour from them with a local date.

By the sound of things they gig quite a lot and seem to appear often at fringe festivals. Certainly quite unique.

Cheapest ticket for Brit Floyd at The Brighton Centre last year - £10. Cheapest this year - £29.50. It is a longer show this year, but I won't be paying that, even though they are excellent.

White Denim last night. They played for two hours, barely breaking between tunes, and made a very pleasant noise too. Duelling guitar licks, solos, tracks that built up to a crescendo. They played all (or nearly all) of the most recent album and quite a few old faves too. Nice to see Inigo Calderon on drums!

Saw them at The Haunt before Christmas, hence giving this one a miss, and really enjoyed them then - they're a charisma vacuum but they play amazingly together, and I'm quite a fan of bands who turn up, play the hell out of the place for a decent amount of time, and leave, without lots of chatting in between!

Just packing my bag for Primavera - flying out at 8.30 in the morning, it's going to be amazing!

I suspect there's a few others here going, any last minute tips? Just been enjoying Hospitality, Islands and Mark Eitzel. Sure there's still loads of stuff I'd like that I haven't even got round to yet (mind you, the line up is so good that I'm already pretty much sorted for what to do all three evenings, so finding more bands might just create an even bigger headache!

I would love to be going, have a good one! Only advice I've got is probably too late to be of any use...give yourself time to check out Barcelona, if you haven't before. To coin a phrase, I love this city.

Not wrong about WoD. They did their usual of line checking for half an hour when they should have been onstage meaning I missed more of the Pixies than I should have done but they were gorgeous.

Unfortunately a combination of sound issues and overcrowding ruined Neutral Milk Hotel for me, though others who got closer loved it. I was also bewildered from seeing a joyous and magical Sun Ra set which didn't help, hope I get another chance.
